You know what, I made this video and BOOM the Quest 3s was announced......Will definitely look in to that but I believe it's an incremental upgrade to the 3. Depends on what deals will be coming out but if the Quest 3 goes on a sale, I'd snatch one up right away 🤞
@@RADERFPV I hear you man. My computer tends to go full blast when I’d play something so graphically demanding. Computers are getting more affordable and even laptops now running a 4060 can run VR smoothly. Wishing you luck with the sim racing, my friend!
Personally don't understand why they solder the ram on when CAMM2 exists. I also have an HP Envy 15.6 4k Touch OLED with 10th gen intel i7 and RTX 2060 in a similar form factor/weight but they were able to make the RAM/SSD replaceable. Shouldn't be going backwards in 2024 tbh.
Great review! I’ve been thinking of buying a new laptop, I’m between this or spectre 360 32gb ram. I want it for engineering which would you recommend ? I have a ps5 so I wouldn’t really need it for gaming. Just a good powerful laptop. Thanks
@@Illaexur yes! I was actually using it last night in bed with the app called BIG SCREEN and there’s an environment in a bedroom where the video screen is on the ceiling of your bed and when you physically lie down, you actually see the screen on your ceiling inside the virtual world. It’s amazing for all you mentioned like RU-vid, Netflix, browsing or all at once with multiple windows lmao
I would 1000% buy this if it had an oculink port. I hate the proprietary shiz. Edit: Before anyone says, "but it has TB4": Oculink is way better than TB4.
Close but not sure why the 16 only has one USBC40gbs and the 13 has two? The previous 16 had dual thunderbolt. As a creative professional that's a deal breaker, unfortunately. Guess it's back to razer
Right side is a slower slot for sure, I was transferring multiple files from an SSD with a thunderbolt cable. I’ll try again with a different set of filesz
@@paolocee Yeah I'm not sure which side is USBC40gbs but I think it should say on on the slot probably, thing is USBC40gbs is pretty much thunderbolt compatible which many videos, creative people need so removing one of them is a strange move considering the 13inch has two USBC40gbs ports.. If I use the one for a display then I can't connect my thunderbolt drives or other devices that use that similar speed..
@marcelduvenage3289 I just checked my P16 which has the same architecture as the G16 and the right side says 10Gbps vs the left saying 40Gbps. I guess it’s just how the system is set up
@@paolocee thanks yes but what does the Px13 have two USBC40gbs ports, strange move as far as I'm concerned, I had the previous gen Proart 16 and it had two thunderbolt ports. Anyhow they can't please everyone but as I say a really add choice.. Thanks for the info, appreciated..
I wonder how the new Lunar lake will be for music production? I think that’ll be a big change. For me I stick with Apple M series because you still can’t beat it for its efficiency and you never have to deal with drivers. I’m biased because I use Logic and that thing is getting pretty crazy. The M4 series should have the most powerful laptop chip by far but will be expensive.
Depends on the situation I’m afraid. I have a handheld that I strictly set up as a good handheld device, meaning emulation, light steam games etc. the ROG Ally X will be similar; but if you want to do productivity as well, the Z13 is a better choice; bigger screen, keyboard…
Great video! how do you find reading text on this monitor? I keep coming back to this monitor when looking for a new one, but most reviews are very gaming centric. Outside of video-editing, do you think it'd work well for productivity tasks where you're doing a lot of reading, etc?
I’m a software dev and bought this monitor off Facebook marketplace for purely work purposes and I think the text on the screen is perfectly legible. I like it since when I scale my ui to 150 it can comfortably fit 4 windows of work on it.
@NorthernNights-o3k hey! Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I still use it today and still as amazing as the day I got it. Initially the size worried me but now I can’t go smaller 😂
Am I the only one that finds tablets worse for portability? Like they are way less comfortable to use if you're lounging in a chair etc you have to hold them up or awkwardly try to prop them up at the right angle. Laptop just sits on your lap or whatever and the screen sticks up at a better hight.
I have a doubt between the ROG G14 and the ProArt p16 both with a RTX 4070. Which one would you recommend? I'm undecided because of the Hz of the screen and the size cause the G14 is smaller than the proArt thats is 16". I'm going to use the laptop mainly for programming and a little video editing, but I'd also like to play some games (not competitive). Also I'm looking for an rtx 4070, so thats why I saw a g16 with a rtx 4060 but take me back
Can someone please answer a question for me Does the 49" stretch the picture, or do you get a wider field of view when gaming?(see more while in the game a wider field of view)
Depends on the game. One of the biggest caveats with a 32:9 is that games will have the black bars when playing at full resolution of 5120 x 1440. However, more and more games support these displays and they are AMAZING. I wouldn’t recommend this as a primary monitor if that bothers you though. Highly recommend you see what games you play are available on RU-vid first! ☝️
@@paolocee I have the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8. I was just wondering if it was worth going up. But if the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 just stretches the picture out instead of giving me a wider peripheral field of view (meaning see more of what around me) in the game, then I guess it is not worth upgrading. I play BF4 and BF 2042 was hoping I could get a wider peripheral field of view .
Ohhh, hmm. That's a though question. For me, this is is my first 32:9 monitor plus the OLED was very enticing. I think you have the super aggresive curve which is honest would Ike to try out! Definitely check one out in person.
I finally got rid of this misunderstanding. By the way, I had an Asus Flow 12 with an Intel 12th generation i9 processor. At first, everything was going well and it was completely fine until the problems started. After six months, the battery failed. After another six months, the keyboard stopped working. After the next six months, it just turned off, and my motherboard needed to be replaced. In short, I took my laptop to the service center more frequently than my Turbo VAG.
Have anyone got issue yet my freeze time to time so you can't power it off you just have to let the power drain in order to reset power back up so I return my thar same week.
@paolocee I try holding down the power button it still didn't shut down or respond to it too...that was the 1st thing I did when it happen I hold it for so long waiting for it to shut down too ...it didn't happen
I wanted one of these so bad, but settled for a legion go and couldnt be happier. Have a diy egpu setup with a 3050ti plugged into the tv and its exactly what i need. Desktop pc for my AAA games and dnd night. Legion go for on the go and couch gaming.
@@codidittmar4131 very good choice! I’m a huuuuge fan of the legion go and I still can’t find something better in a handheld format. I might try the Asus ROG Ally X soon but the Go’s trackpad is such a big deal for me!
