What type of foot do I need to use for my Janome Skyline 4. The foot I have Janome Darning foot (open-toe) seems to have too much room, fabric just slides, even though it is for a long shaft.
Don’t waste your money. I did. The stitches are irregular unless you keep constant speed of fabric. Went in for repair because the expert, in another state, couldn’t make it work. STILL doesn’t! What a waste!
Don’t waste your money. It doesn’t work. Mine just came back after going to New Jersey for a fix with the same problem it went in for. Irregular stitches are ‘just the way it works’. Total waste of money.
Looks nice, but my Horizon 8200 has many of these features, although not as many stitches(which I don’t really care about)and not the fancy needle threader( mine still works perfectly fine). Are you going to do any “anniversary” of the 8200?
For the price of this Anniversary addition, you ought to just spend a little more (or possibly less if getting used or refurbished) and get the EXACT same bells and whistles that some of the other models have PLUS a bigger harp space i.e. the 9410 or the 9450 plus you also can get the HP plate to boot. Just my 2 cents.
Oh Susan, this is such a wonderful technique, love what you can do with mirage stitches so easily. Great video, love your method of teaching. Thanks so much.
I just find it interesting how Janome can add HP presser foot and HP needle plate to the new S7AE, but they won't give the older S7 an update to accept the HP presser foot and needle plate. We've wanted this feature but were told it's an older machine with no support for updates. Janome is a RIP OFF. Another money grab by another profit greedy company.
@LMC-jk2yp Machines are constantly being updated. Same thing happened to me when I purchased a 9450. Two months later the 9480 came out. Needless to say I was a bit miffed. Updates are inevitable. All other manufacturers are doing the same. Not exclusive to Janome.
@@michellegreen8236 yes exactly that’s the reason I asked the question. It’s my first computerized sewing machine. I saw they had them for quilting machines but not for it sewing??? Glad you brought that up I will be interested to see the response.
I use a 2.25” strip, folded in half, and trim my quilt to 1/4” and attach binding to wrong side just a hair outside the seam allowance, flip it and press with tip of iron only, arrange the binding and clip it in place. I then top stitch the flap just where I want it on the right side, which will be in the ditch on the wrong side, or maybe a little way out onto the quilt, but that’s neat and parallel to the binding. Easier to be consistent because you can see what you’re doing. Neat and not too much flap. Much better than applying from right side, stitching in the ditch on the right side and never knowing whether you will even catch the binding at all or too much and have a huge flap. If the binding strip is 2.5” you get a hollow feel to the binding, too much flap, or you need to trim your quilt with a wider allowance before binding. But this works for me.
Thank you very much. This was and excellent class. I am new using my 15000 that just got it this year. I am learning a bit each day. I want to use feed foot for a quilt with a bulky batting. Just one question , which setting do I have to choose to saw? I can not see AD, SD or OD. foot or any of them. I wonder if we just set in quilting where it appears A feet , is that correct . Thank you
My sewing machine (Arctic Crystal) is jammed....I THINK I bent the needle. Is this a common issue??? What size needle is the standard one (meaning, what it came with)? I'm going to replace it and see if I can solve the problem.
Hi ! My name is Laura l love this class there is so much to learn l have janome m7 l got j m17 .l been saweing for 40 years. But, l need to learn computer thank you for the class y have a lot of knowledge thank you again l will learn little by little
I thought I learned that stitching a basting stitch was just one long line of continous stitches.... I own the 6700P and it shows me how to set my machine up for the basting stitch, but I am afraid that I don't understand how to do it. I am trying to follow the instructions, but all the machine does is sew one stitch and it stops. I am really getting aggravated!!!
Another way to sew a basting stitch is to simply lengthen the stitch by turning the Stitch Length Adjusting Dial (page 32, #4) to 5. The machine will not stop after one stitch, and you can sew a continuous seam. If you need personal assistance, please email us at: custrel@janome-america.com
Does any one know what is the maximum Tex thread count can you use in this machine? I am considering the HD9, but the BE edition (it comes with the table extention)...
Such a great video. These techniques were new to me. I can't wait to try them. Very good demonstration and instruction. I loved Nancy Zeiman too. Thank you!
