On this channel, Wander Wonders, join us, the Randy and Trisha Selgrath, as we travel all over the USA, Canada, and Europe. We converted a 15 seat Ford Passenger Van Hightop. After spending years dreaming, designing, researching, watching others' videos, and now bringing it all into fruition. We'll share innovative design solutions and real world build challenges. We'll show you what went right and what went wrong to help your build go smoothly.
In our Travel Video Playlist, we take this van on the road all over North America. We'll show you beautiful places, hike and bike, and go on many adventures. We meet wonderful people and have lots of fun. On our newest adventure in September of 2023, we'll head across the pond to Portugal and Spain.
Check out my sister channel: artzXpress for free art lessons. In our travels, as we discover inspiration for paintings, I will teach you how to translate that view through drawing and painting. ~ Trisha Selgrath
Depends on how close. One of our favorite boondocking spots is about an hour south of the city and 30 minutes north of Tucson. Go to the Arizona playlist and you'll see Boondocking Tucson plus several others. We have desert camped in many locations that are so beautiful. ~ Trisha
This is absolutely gorgeous, and off the beaten path. Just like we like it !!! Thanks for sharing. So many RV'ers hit the big resort areas. I really enjoyed this video and hope to visit this beautiful area one day.
I do love Colorado and I have a bunch more from the state, but I have to start somewhere. So many pics, it's kinda overwhelming. After you watch it, you have to tell me which one from Buena Vista. ~ Trisha
Why does everyone think they need to "build a fire" at campgrounds? Especially people with RV's. Do you need it to keep warm? Are you goig to Cook on it? Or do you just LIKE POLLUTIMG THE AIR?
Frankly, we really don't build fires often because we have solar powered induction cooktops/microwave etc. Even a propane cooktop is faster than a fire. Even though fires are the least efficient they make people feel like they're really camping. They do provide lovely ambiance to sit around chatting in the evening. ~ Trisha
Howdy! Thanks so much. We're pluggin away... I really wanted to redo the kitchen before your visit but the garage has been delayed by a month which threw everything off, but we did get a pontoon boat, so there's that! Trisha
I lived semi close to this lake, yet I have never been to Sullivan Lake! Priest Lake numerous times. Thank you for your video! I am going to go there. Cheers!
Thanks so much for sharing. Your pics are so beautiful! So which campsites would you recommend? A or B? We have a larger rv but really want pretty views. Also, where do you fill fresh water tanks and dump?
"A" is more wide open for large vehicles and pretty level. You can get water at Maverick's gas station in Moab. We don't have a black tank so I'm not sure about that, but I assume you can pay in Moab at a campground. Thanks so much for watching. There are also several other videos on the area. Have fun! ~ Trisha
We have been to upstate NY before I started the channel and it is beautiful. Of course, we've been to NYC many times but we are not going to drive the van through it! Camping in the east requires more planning to book campgrounds. We are hoping to go that way next year. Thanks for watching! ~ Trisha
We did not do the Steel Bender. I don't think that the Jeep would have been up to it. Next time, I think we would opt for a side by side tour. That looked like a lot of fun and there is help for the more technical parts. Gorgeous area! Slickrock above Moab has trails for every level of driver and equipment. Long Canyon Trail is fun for beginners. It leads up to Canyonlands. My son and I did the Gemini Bridges Trail and it is spectacular and a little challenging in areas but our old Jeep did fine. I don't know how much time you have, but we usually boondock north of Arches NP in Thompson Springs. I have videos on that and how to 4x4 and hike to Delicate Arch the back way. That's in the Utah Playlist. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have more questions, Trisha
I had never heard of it. Randy and I went back and hiked the other day. It's great to have it nearby. We're still running back and forth to Marietta. Thanks for watching! Trisha
Thank you! most of it is still in 2 storage rooms in Marietta plus I have a lot at Zack's house. Our garage has been delayed until the end of the month. Aaaaarrrrg! Which means we can't officially clear out the storage rooms. LOL Trisha
I was impressed by your van at the Costco parking lot in Woodstock today. I scanned your QR code and found you, but I know I came across your channel before. Once your settled in your homestead I have my checkbook and my pen is bleeding ink for your van! 🤓
I live here and the hiking, camping, fishing, hunting and picnicking are wonderful. As an extensively traveled individual all over North America I am always amazed and pleased to return home to the Black Hills of South Dakota.
Beautiful. We drove the Cactus Forest Drive a while back and really enjoyed the scenery and the short hikes along that road. Thank you for bringing us back to this wonderful place. 👍🙂
Great video! I'm going soon to Culp Valley to camp and grill some delicious food. Hopefully it's not too windy, we can't wait to stargaze and enjoy our stay.
Congratulations! Looks like an amazing place to have some roots. Love the lake and all of the fruit trees. 🎉 Are you ever thinking of joining boondockers welcome if you have the space? Would be interested in vids of upkeep of the land and all of the gardening and what you do with the fruit. ❤
That's a great idea. I hadn't thought of it. We have a bit of work to do before inviting campers. Several diseased or leaning trees need to come down and an out building constructed. Thanks for watching! Trisha
