It's lame if you just take the top speed into account😃 But I'm pretty sure regular opel Astra cannot do 0-60 in 7 sec. Please don't say GSIs ;) @martinwidmer5961
While nowadays it's probably true the top speed is limited electronically, EVs have similar physical limitations to ICE cars - the gearbox and the max amount of RPM the electric motor is able to spin. Both of which are considerably lower on most "standard" EVs than on ICEs in the same price range. Top speed of VW Up is around 170 kph (yes, the N/A 1-liter 3-cylinder can do that), e-Up is limited at 130 kph and I doubt it could go faster than 150 if delimited.
True! Most Evs are electronically limited to 100 something kph as more would be inefficient both to serve their purpose (environmental friendly) and their their battery charge
