Hello, I'm in the re-branding and website should be up and running by the end of October. You can sign up to my email list to be notified! docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd4pOuHDt8qm7UMcuTa1Ak_DkCLK1vvhx4iYdGN1N8qMcfI4Q/viewform Thanks!
Add your fragrance and wax together first at 167 degrees Farenheit to bind the fragrance to the wax. Stir for one minute then add color, glitter and oils. This will get a better texture and fragrance "throw" Throw means the amount of scent when burning. I hope this helps. You have to have all of it at the same temp and stir as you add....add a bit of oil and stir well....add some ore and stir....always stirring. If it seperates just heat it back up and stir until cool.
Thank you so much for the tips! I do want to try this again because even though the hot throw was great, I feel the texture was off! So thanks for this 🙌
hello im a new subbie just starting back making wax melts i feel i needed a little more training i love how detailed your tutorials are i will watch video 1 and2 and also others thanks for sharing the detailed prep even showing temp from start to finish at adding frangrance even color
Hi, I'm so glad you're enjoying the content! I wanted to make something that I wish I had access to when I first started out, as there's so much to learn! Thanks so much for subbing!
great video just wondering what reed diffuser base do you use? i tried augeo from craftastik but couldnt really smell the diffuser unless it was right under my nose lol
Hi, thank you! I started with Vegan Diffuser base from Candle Shack. This worked with most of the scents bar one! So switched to Augeo from Candle Shack, and despite being told that chemically, they are the same product, it seemed to work well with the one scent I otherwise couldn't get to work! So I now use this with all FO's!
ohh okay, thank you so much for the reply. My sister also reported great results with candle shacks augeo. I've tried their pomelo F.O, and it was expensive but great quality, so i might try their augeo. thank you. hope you have a fruitful year. x
Hi, I did add a bit of Mica powder into the orange one, and I think the pink one was left over pink wax from another project (if I remember correctly!).
I remember once buying a candle for my friend’s birthday and it came with a free wax melt. I didn’t know what it was, but I sent it to her. She said the chocolate I sent her tasted awful 😂 She had tried to eat the wax melt. That’s how I learnt about wax melts. I am glad you label your wax melts because some businesses don’t and they assume that people know what it is. 🥹 I didn’t know we had so many restrictions in the UK. It’s sad but I guess it’s for our safety. Oh, you said something about hot and cold throw, what does that mean? I don’t make candles or know anything about them.
Oh nooo! 😅 It's a tedious task but it's stories like these which makes the job of individually wrapping melts worth it! Don't want to be sued!!! Hot throw means the strength of the scent you get when the wax is heated and cold throw is the strength you get from the wax when it's a solid. Hope that makes sense but reminds me that I should do a 'common phrases' section! Xx
Hello and thank you for watching! The whole process can feel overwhelming but once you create a brand, it's easier to pick out your target market, therefore making it easier to decide which scents to buy. I would recommend starting off with Candle Shack and Discount Candle Supplies! Let me know how you get on! All the best x
I am curious how you get any fragrance throw not adding and mixing the fragrance at specific temperatures and mixing for the full amount of time to incorporate and bind it to the wax?
I thought I had replied to this.. 2nd time lucky... I wish I had the answer, although I've always found working with Soy 494 Wax pretty easy. The wax warmer I use maintains the wax at a certain temp, so I'm aware of the temp. Sorry if this didn't come across in the video. I'm not sure why you think I didn't mix for the full amount of time though- this is an edited video! Also, I think a lot of novice candle and wax melt makers underestimate the importance of using good quality FOs.
Do you have your shrink wrap each one? Seems a lot of time and waste of plastic. Aren’t the same scents in the same container 🫙 or are you doing it because it’s in the bag? Could you shrink wrap them all together? Hmm 🤔 Your label is great. 👍🏽 I’m going to work on some today praying I figure it out. How did you measure the label or bag to make sure it’s the size and for the wax melts? Thanks for responding.
I shrink wrap the ones for Pic N Mix. Unfortunately, in the UK, we are not allowed to mix scents, 😞 hence having to wrap. If I'm making a bag of the same scented wax melts, then no, I don't individually wrap! Yes, it's a lot of time, and added plastic, but I would be happy to hear of any solutions to this annoying rule we have! Thanks for the questions! I think I need to do a mini series! Xx
@@emodorélondon Thanks for responding. Can you do tissue paper or coffee filters? I’ve seen someone do that. They wrapped up soap. 🧼 You’ll get it you’re smart. I’m trying to use soy wax and it’s frosting soooo DISCOURAGING. What type of wax do you use?
I enjoyed this video. Thank you for showing the other vendors and telling us about your experience. How was it for you interacting with customers? I think as a customer I would be drawn to the candles because I know what they are. 😅 I don’t know what the diffusers are and as an awkward person I wouldn’t ask either. Saying that if there was a sign explaining what diffusers are I would read it. ❤
That makes so much sense now that you've explained that 😅 that's great advice. Thank you x At first, I was dreading it, I'm an introvert at heart and find these situations exhausting. But because I was talking about my products, it wasn't too bad and I actually started to enjoy it more. I definitely will be nore relaxed going to another event, that's for sure! Xx
No problem 😊 I am happy you got more confident over the time there. As you do more it will become second nature to you. Best of luck with your future markets 💜
Hello, hopefully, I will do a video on this soon. However, wax from supplies for candles (although not sure if they currently have in stock) oils from Discount Candle Supplies and Candle Shack. Their Facebook groups are really helpful x
Hello, Thanks for your message. I'm very happy with how the channel is currently doing. I'm not really here for subscriptions, but more to document my journey and to build a little community with whoever wants to join. But thank you! Take care!
Awww, thank you so much for the positive feedback. That's really made my day! I did have a good day, thank you. I definitely underestimated how tiring it would be, though! But all in all, I loved it x
Hello, Thanks so much! You can wash them with a little bit of liquid soap. However, when I store them wrapped in parchment paper & in their cardboard boxes, usually I don't need to. If I notice that it's a little bit dusty, I do pipette some unscented wax in beforehand, wait for it to dry, then peel them out and dispose of. That way, it gets rid of all the little flecks of dust that may have gotten in them.
Don’t know if you’re aware but you can do up to 20% FO with scoopable/squeezable wax melts 🫶🏾 Also it helps the wax and oil bind together if you add the oil to the wax while it’s hot and/or heat them together
Hiya, thanks for the tips. I thought the amount of FO used was dependent on the IFRA, especially if I was planning on selling them. I'm going to try adding the oil to wax! It makes sense, so thanks for that! Xx
Hi, what sort of wax do you use? I liked the video but would have loved to know what you did to make the melts. And why s9me crumbled would be great to know. Lasrly, how much would you sell them for?
Hi, thanks for the comment. I do have another video outlining my process and how I get a great scent throw. I use Soy 494 and I find it works best of you stick to the melting and pouring temperatures outlined on the suppliers website. Some of them crumbled because I de-moulded far too soon!
@@emodorélondonThanks for the video but you didn’t answer her/his other question in regards to how much do you sell for? I’m in the USA 🇺🇸 so competition. Who made your label? Looks great! Do you have a video of making the label? So proud to see a brown woman entrepreneur! I just started making soy wax melts but they turned out white not sure why. I’m using soy wax but I don’t know the number I got it at a store called Hobby Lobby in the USA. You are very helpful to show us every detailed. How did you get your logo on them? Thanks for responding. How do calculate the price?
