I do wish people would communicate to the mods more about potential spoilers, so we don't have this disconnect. :P And on to the next
I hope we talk about our favorite lawyer tools eventually, because I'd love to get into a discussion of magatama/bluffing vs "logic" vs squeezy bracelet vs analytical psychology robot. I think that would be a fun talk :_)

I still love Bobby Fullbright! And this is why I appreciate that I got to watch this game again something like 5 years later. I remember disliking it so much, but watching Crystal kinda turned a light bulb on for me. Dual Destinies and the Apollo Justice game were always still Ace Attorney games with Phoenix as the main character. I think I disliked Dual Destinies and liked Apollo Justice less was because I correlated them to being Apollo Justice and Athena Cykes games. Athena is still my least liked character, but the game itself was actually pretty fun and I had completely forgotten about some of the cameos. I can gladly say that I actually enjoyed this case to it's conclusion. I guess you could say the end really does justify the means. I hope I get to be in chat to discuss the game and case ratings later on.
At the end of the day, you can't rely solely on truth or lies and evidence for your conclusions on this ending. You'll spin yourself in circles endlessly if you do that. You have to believe in the answer you think is right, and support that answer with evidence. You have to merge the ideals of Kokichi and Kaito.
This is so interesting to watch as someone who loved this game at 14 and hasn't replayed since! Never realized how hard the game hits the Gavins as extreme inversions on their typical roles, I just remember thinking Klavier was really nice lol. Also the comments about dreading Turnabout Serenade shocked me, it was far and away my favorite when I played it.
Comments upset at Crystal for focusing on her favorite character more compared to others are cringe ngl. Glad she's enjoying herself despite all this, though!
I think CrysAAHHL's Cooking theories is gething in the way of her actually reading what the game is telling her plainly. So of course when the game is throwing her soft balls she swings hard cause she thinks its way more complicated than it actually is. And her theorizing just becomes a big blindfold for the sake of shooting in the dark.
Yes, who could possibly imagine the guy whose trust has been repeatedly betrayed by coworkers might have trust issues about his coworkers after a traumatic event? Shocking, I tell you.
Never in my life have I despised a being more than Brushel. He is the only person in this world that I want dead. I would rather take 100 Moe’s than this waste of space. I cannot think of a single thing that I like about him. If he was in a tier list ranking every person who ever existed, fictional and non-fictional, he would be the only one in J-tier, with the second-lowest person being in G-tier

The reason Dual Destinies feels disconnected with the previous game is because the last game ended with the attempt to revive the jurist system, and this game has none of that. If anything, this game should have incorporated Great Ace Attorney's jury mechanic, but alas, we had no such thing cause Shu Takumi left. The devs had to try and continue the series without Shu Takumi. Thus, there are limitations and issues in the writing. However, despite its faults, I think Athena and Simon was, in fact, the best part of the game, and I even adored the twist where Fulbright was actually the villain that ruined their lives. The entire franchise of Ace Attorney has always made it so that the villain is easily distinguishable. They are either already spoiled from the get-go, or just look evil. It's often never a huge surprise on who the actual villain is. But Fulbright? Nah, that was just incredible. When you pointed out how Fulbright was growing on you, I knew that you'd be shocked, and heartbroken, to learn the reveal that he's the villain. However, good luck with the next game. It's personally my least favorite.

Myst was actually a major inspiration for Shu Takumi to get into game dev! As was Another World (also called Out Of This World or Outer World) in the case of Ghost Trick.
The actual Dark Age of the Ace Attorney Twitter account was from 2017 to 2021, when basically the only thing it tweeted was announcements of sales or anniversaries. And the annual Almost Christmas tweet. That was it.

i like the duality of Crystal not liking akechi being the way he acts in the third sem, meanwhile theres me who wanted a batshit insane party member in persona for years.
as one of the biggest apollo defenders in chat, let us not forget that, one, apollo has been betrayed by someone he idolised TWICE. of course he's not gonna trust that easily. especially not a coworker he knew for only half a year. two, athena is the main suspect of the case. the lighter had her prints on it. you know, the lighter that was proved to belong to the killer. he had every reason to suspect her, friendship be damned
but why was he trying to extend a trial regarding the past (did athena kill her own mother?) to discuss something in the present (did athena kill clay?) it gets even worse when you factor other possiblities. if apollo knew about the hostage situation, that means he put various people in danger for the sake of his own selfish gain...on purpose! If he witnessed athena during the black psyche lock segment, that means he intentionally decided to accuse Athena on murder RIGHT after she got the chance to clear her own doubts regarding ANOTHER murder. Can all of these actions be explained? yes. Apollo was not in a good state of mind, he lost a close friend and was unable to find evidence to prove another friend innocent of murder despite all his efforts. (he truly, never wanted Athena to be guilty). He felt like he had no other choice. HOWEVER, it is very reasonable to hate him for what he did. The explanation I just gave isn't enough to justify Apollo's actions. I, too would want to be punched in the face after pulling some nonsense like that.
Once this game is completed, I can only speak for myself that I think it would be fine if you wanted to take a break from Ace Attorney to play Metaphor and be refreshed for AA6 and the Investigations collection nearer the end of the year. Just don't want you to feel like you need to rush or do longer streams for us, as we all want you to make sure you are able to enjoy your time streaming these games to the fullest. If Episode Aigis only takes until the end of September/early October, you could try out whatever you feel until Metaphor. Might be difficult to try to squeeze in any Resident Evil like 7 or original games so some one offs you wanted to try could work. Sounds like you would rather start AA6 and alternate, but if you would rather focus on Persona and Metaphor, then come back to Ace Attorney, that seems like a good plan so you can enjoy them both. Hope you can get some good rest at what seems like a stressful, busy time for you.
AA5 is a game I would put on the Last 3 of AA saga. The questionable Phoenix spotlight fan service (adding Edgeworth), shoving messages so repetitively lazy AKA "the end justify the means" and "the dark age of law"... and last of all, the absence of Shu Takumi REALLY made the saga chase itself like a chicken without a head. My favorite character Apollo suffered the most post AA4 and this "Justice" trilogy leaves a bitter taste with some sweet moments. Reviewing these cases of AA5: The bomb one: 5/10 The Yokai one: 4/10 The School one: 4/10 The rocket one (both cases): 3/10 DLC one: 10/10
It would be really cool if you could check out the costumes, DD and SOJ both have alternative ones for all protagonists, some of them are really funny. One of the ones in DD even has a different animation
I love this case so much, Truly fit the name of the wright ANYTHING agency, is a very nice case, I can assure you that, and not because only for the silly thematic
She really likes Athena, Athena was in the middle of her traumatic plot dump and Apollo comes in dressed as a an edgelord. I get it. We can agree to disagree with her. That's just being human :P I found her take on the whole game refreshing and I'm happy she finished it. I'm here for the long haul.
That art of edgeworth and phoenix goes crazy, while Apollo is looking at the whine bottle Edgeworth and Phoenix are looking straight at us. They knew what they were doing and I love that!
Honestly I don't think anyone would be mad at you if you paused AA6 in order to play metaphor once it drops on oct 11! Taking a break from AA might also prevent any possible ace attorney burn out - after all you have been playing these games for months now :)
to be fair it's just AA6 left, then the investigations games, it'd make sense to take a break before doing investigations (she needs to mentally prepare for Edgeworth) but of course it's her choice how much more she wants to play
Yeah, I used to REALLY love this game too but further replays have soured me a bit on it too. That being said, there are some good things still here, especially Athena and Simon who I just love to bits. Your opinion that it's a mixed bag is something that we all can agree on. And yet... i dunno if this is my least favorite game or not. Investigations 1 and AA4 have some incredible lows.
