On this Motorcycle Channel we talk Riding, Rallies, Gear and Wrenching. I ride a 2016 Harley Davidson Street Glide Special and she rides a 2000 Dyna Super Glide Sport Convertible. We mainly ride in the Ozarks but have been to rallies like Sturgis, BBB and other motorcycle related events and share those experiences here. We also try to do a Rider Safety Tip every month. When we get a chance we will review gear and parts and even do some wrenching stuff. Some of our favorite rides are when we get to do good deed like Toy Runs and Charity focused rides like the Frosty Balls New Years Day Ride. Be Safe and Keep on Riding!
I wouldn't buy a friggin electric puke cycle ever! Stupid idea! I would ride an electric scooter on vacation, but that is a totally different business!!!😂😢😮😅😊
It's only on bikes produced between certain dates of 10/27/23 and 07/18/2024 and includes any un sold units sitting on dealership floors. Total units sold has nothing to do with the recalled number of units because you don't know how many are sitting on the floors. The reason twenty three and a half probably aren't included is 10/27/2023 they were done with 2023 production and shifting into 2024 production. Bulletin for inspection of harness is fairly simple and quick, then if rub through is seen you need the recall kit. At inspection they simple tie the harness back out of the way. If a recall kit is required, they actually will cut about a foot and a half of the wiring out and will be soldering in a new section of harness with a new plug, reroute and tie back. Sounds like the tie back was the only thing missed for some reason during those production dates. With all the job cuts they had recently maybe the zip tie guy was let go and the guy behind him or in front of him didn't it was there new responsibility. 😂
They don't have to have been sold to consumers, they could be sitting in the showroom at dealerships. The recall covers all the bikes that were manufactured with that defect. I did a ton of recalls on brand new cars that hadn't been sold yet when I worked at car dealerships. Also, the dealerships are the Motor Co's customers, not the end user.
HD's slogan in their prime was: "King of the Highway". Nowadays: "King of the Recall". FHD, F Jochen, FCVO, FVVT, F Fraudglide. Over-teched and overpriced and under reliable.
I haven’t seen any evidence of a boycott. My home dealer, Redstone HD, is selling bikes out of both doors. I have several friends who have bought new bikes recently. I am tired of hearing boys calling wolf.
This recall is not a big deal, but I work at an Indian dealership, and I see angry Harley owners every day figuring out how to get out of their Harleys, trading them in, buying something else to ride for now, etc. I also did a video about it, and if you read through the comments there are tons of comments from people who will never buy Harley again because of the current CEO and board of directors, but there are also plenty of people who won't let political BS sway them from riding the bike they want to ride. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hxm65gbxcGc.html
This is such a bitch vlog that is really yanking on a simple fix on a single and only recall for the 2024 models. I don’t know why you’d be commenting on the company’s financial performance? What’s the point of commenting on rumours and speculation that is always there and never goes away.
It's interesting that there is a recall over this. Our police bikes (FLHPs) have issues all the time (and have for years) with wires breaking that cause everything from abs issues, limp mode, loosing contact with the LH/RH control modules, speedometer quits working and the bike to shut off. It's usually because the fork tubes will literally beat the wires in half whenever you go full lock to one side or the other because there is inadequate clearance from the rats nest of wiring that runs along the frame, past the neck, and into the headlamp assembly. I guess this isn't an issue for the lay person since they rarely make turns as tight as we do and don't have the additional wiring for the police lights. But this is a frequent issue for us and any other department I've talked with about the matter. We usually just trace down the break, repair it and go on about our business but it's such an annoying reoccurance.
I just one two months ago….the issues so far have been Screen rebooting on it own: fixed via software update. 2nd issue was the bike loose total power on a hill climb with no throttle Reasponse it thought I was losing it or dropping it. Software update so far so good. Oh and the neck bearings fear a bit loose when I it it over 75mph. Other then that it’s been awesome 😎
I totally disagree about the boycott. I ride with multiple hog groups - these are your most committed Harley people. Many were not buying a new Harley because of woke trash. In the Midwest dealers are hurting and sales are down big.
I mean no disrespect but I don’t think of hog groups as being the most committed customers at all. For people like me that are an hour or more away from a dealer nobody I ride with is active in HOG, I’m not saying there is anything wrong with hog and we have been members but I have never associated membership with commitment or loyalty to the brand. With more dealers closing I expect it to hurt HOG membership even more.
@@RidingintheOzarks I hear what you’re saying, but the HOG group members in my area are the ones you always see at the dealers, supporting events, spending all the money on merch, parts, and buying bikes from the dealers. These are the people who replace their bikes every few years because they’re putting on insane miles - far more than the typical Harley rider.
@@JA-zh5xi I am not disputing your views just saying I have never seen it that way. I appreciate other perspectives. I have friend who put on 36k miles last year and he might be a hog member (not sure) he isn’t active with local events or hanging out at the dealership. He never wears hd gear or merch… he just rides everywhere.
I traded in my 2019 limited for a 2024 limited. I noticed the quality wasn’t as good - fit and finish is poor - plastics don’t fit together as nicely. Seem thinner or cheaper.
So when a few years ago a bunch of Pam Americas started going into limp mode, reportedly on FB groups, which is not good when you're travelling at highway speeds surrounded by other vehicles or the bike wouldn't start properly when stuck in traffic because of starter clutch gear issues, why didn't HD have a recall? A recall is not a bad thing to fix problems instead of waiting for the crap to hit the fan leaving the customer strandard hours from home.
RU-vid 2024. Complain when it’s not broken but doesn’t change. Complain when it’s broken. Complain when it’s broken and getting fixed for free. Complains when it’s not broken and getting fixed for free. Complain when there’s nothing to complain about.
Did you take my video as complaining? I hope not I try to be fair and informative. I do bitch occasionally, I’m still not ok with some production moving to Thailand.
Maybe with all those profits you mentioned Harley Davidson is getting thanks to no DEI exclusions, they’l pass the savings and reduce the cost of that new Harley that you’re thinking about getting Mike. Never fear! When the Harris administration takes control this January u’ll see the economy improve so much that everybody will be able to afford Harley’s. Ahh…
So the president of the United States can’t make your life better economically huh? I guess by that same token they can’t make it worse either😆 Fact sht: The President appoints the heads of federal agencies. This includes his/her executive cabinet. The cabinets roll is to advise the president in subject matter relating to the duties of each respective office. There are 15 heads including: Secretary of the treasury Secretary of commerce Secretary of labor Secretary of housing and urban development Secretary of energy Secretary of transportation Administer of the environmental protection agency United States trade representative Chair of the council of economic advisors Administrator of small business administration Director of budget Do these sound like they’re hitting the economic bell? Go ahead.. read that list two more times and ask yourself if this president.. this one lonely politician😆 influences something as small as the largest economy in the world.
Hey Mike. This is a usual for America and Americas. Why you guys can not be honest and fair? Because you need too much money to survive, in this case you have to lie to entire world. PERIOD. You need money, poor you. Regards.
I just purchased me a CVO ST 3 Momths ago. Took it in the dealership for the recall two weeks ago.. They did what they had to do in under an hour and that was it. I’m back riding. Live Life. Enjoy the Ride and Stay and Ride Safe.
"Shipments" are not the same thing as sales. Dealerships I visit in the south are so packed with bikes you can barely squeeze in! Dealers are going to have to start renting shipping containers just to have someplace to put all the bikes!
@@m.f.m.67 It's certainly that way in eastern North Carolina. Zero floor space. Some have removed parts stands to make more floor space for bikes. In Raleigh I was told we have way more new and used in another building if you want to take a look.
If you knew the bullshit dealerships dealt with you wouldn’t call them stealerships. There is always a few bad apples in any industry that give others a bad name. 🤷♂️
