I’d be interested to know if you’ve still got her. It’s taken 4 years for me to decide to get one an look forward to picking it up in the next few days.
Loved the review thanks. Yes getting the screen right on a speedmaster seems to be central to happy ownership. Some say that fitting lowers to the forks helps. Cheers
Ive tried using this laser monkey and it was awful when i actually got the laser to be centre to the chain you take the laser off and can clearly see the rear sprocket is way out of line i had more success with a level across the rear sprocket going down the chain. After my experience it was a waste of 55quid. Was not accurate one bit was about an inch out on on one side of the wheel it could of been made alot better in the ways of how it clamps to the sprocket. Its just wobbly no matter how toght you turn it. Waste of time
What would make tbis laser better, is if it was fanned out up and down so the laser hits 1-3" just in feont of the device as well as 36 inches away creating an entire laser line from 3" out to 36". Moving the tool to check anything is useless.
The majority of Triumph manufacturing has been moved to Chonburi Thailand, 80km SW of Bangkok. 3 large factories, designed for high quality control (ex Toyota quality control engineering execs). Great location for shipping globally. Yeah Yeah...still Triumph. Just as much as the Triple....which was actually a derivative design patent purchased from Kawasaki.
Great videos, quick question, does this bike have many upgrades available? Like aftermarket T bars or aftermarket seats? I'm a 6 ft guy does the bike feel small or squat? Thanks mate
Hi, just bought one of these. I can't use it, as putting the batteries in is a huge faff- they push on a spring which keeps throwing the batteries down the workshop. After four tries, it all went together. It's a really cheap and nasty tool, and unbelievably awquard to get those batteries in. So-got it together..... and nothing. No laser. Took it apart several times and put it together right, (takes HUGE patience), and still nothing. Sending it back to the makers. Pile of rubbish.
If you align the Laser monkey further back on the sprocket so the tool is at an angle you get a full length laser beam down your chain. You do not have to handle the monkey was fitted correctly.
Hey mate, bloody excellent! Question though: What brand are those? And where did you find them? And one last question: How did you finally fit them? Just the one clamp and bolt or did you fit them to the frame also? Keep it up mate and stay safe brother.
I got them from squaredeals.com or .co.uk can't remember which one, they are fixed with just the one clamp and bolt each side, they do come with arms to connect to the frame but they was too short, thanks for watching man :) should hopefully be back vlogging in the up coming months
I have a 2010 Speedmaster. Too heavy, turning radius is ridiculous. Forward riding position is bad for corners and ultimately a bad idea re comfort. Good for long straight rides, but lousy, non-functioning seat for passenger. Fake Harley copy.
Everything seems to make this well worth having, bar the screen. TBH, a bigger tank would be useful, so if Triumph had any marketing intelligence, they'd offer a 16l+ option, 20l at best. I'd trim the mudguards shorter a tad and have the solo quilted rider's pad. No pillions on MY bikes!
Yep i was one of the 100s and 100s stuck on the A21 ... By the time we got realised it really wasnt worth heading down to Hastings.. First time I went was 1979 mayday run 👍
Thank you so much for your review of this bike. I have a thunderbird storm and I find it getting a bit heavy for my age now-I'm 63. THIS looks like the answer for me. I am however, interested in the buffering from the screen, even though you pointed out it is a bit flimsy. I have one on the storm and I found it UNRIDABLE without a set of lower wind deflectors due to the buffering I received. How did you find it in this situation, please?
