Your garden looks great,grab some roots organic Mycorrhiza top dressings, it'll help your soil,there is also a product called "Recharge" that is sold at a hydroponics shop or online that will replenish your nutrients and do exactly what the name says.

Sometimes, you just have to break your rule of not using chemical pesticides... I am almost 💯 organic, but there are times when organic pesticides do not work at all, and I have to use a chemical spray... Another thing to do, is to get rid of all the dead materials on the bottom of the plants. Do not add it to your compost though! I had mites on my eggplant plants, and I gave them a thorough pruning, and got rid of ALL the dead and infected leaves, then I sprayed both the plants and surface soil under the plants with MAGGIE'S organic spray in the cool of the evening, and those eggplant came back SO beautiful!!! Don't be discouraged! Show those pest whose garden it is!

@todaysrules6730 🥹🫡 I wanted to try and grow my zucchini uprise, but it was too late. Honestly, I just didn't know enough to act soon enough. I waited too long to take action. I may have to try that because after 2 years of my garden being destroyed because of the pest, it makes me feel like it may not be worth it at times. It's a hard call, though, because I genuinely love it, but practically, I get so frustrated.

I have been gardening since I was five; I'm in my 50s now. This year, where I live, has been horrendous!!! We are in drought conditions. My garden, was secure for five years-no rodents, squirrels, gopher, for all that time. This year, however, has been discouraging. Somehow, ground squirrels, gophers, pack rats, mice, has gotten in for the first time, and on top of that, birds have decimated what the pest didn't... I gave up too, and I absolutely understand what you are saying. I love my garden, it's my rejuvenating space, and this year, I was "robbed" of that... Looking to Fall, where I can reaccess my strategy, and take steps to secure my garden from invaders! It can be very discouraging, when no matter WHAT you try, things keep getting worse, and all your hard work was not in your favor 😢

@todaysrules6730 thank you, it's soooo nice to hear that I'm not the only one. I learned to garden as a teen and have been actually gardening I feel like for only a few years. It feels exactly how you describe like I'm be "robbed" of my joy and peace. I love how you describe it. I'm starting to get alittle encouraged because of fall but I'm alittle scared because I don't want to put in all this work and it just be ruined. 😮‍💨 I can't stop now though, it's been a struggle before and everytime I come back I feel rewarded. Thank you so much for sharing, it encourages me to try again 🥰

@grannik8819 I've heard alot about them but that's what stumped me was the price. I'll have to look because alot of people are suggesting it. @wolffriendinus 29 дней назад
My mom and I have the brush that you call a de-shedding brush. Our morkie (Maltese Yorkie mix) has a long coat, ears hair and tail that gets matted so easily. That brush is great at getting rid of the mats. You're right though, it does tend to pull at the cost which can cause them pain. I try to find where the mat is and hold the fur/hair between the skin and mat so it isn't pulling as much. But then, her coat is more like our hair so it's easier.
@revivedhomemaking
@revivedhomemaking 28 дней назад
@wolffriendinus yeah, it works great most of the time. That's why I like the no rinse shampoo it makes it alittle easier because it conditions the fur and allows it to detangle

As the mother of a professional groomer, you need to invest in a high velocity dryer and a good undercoat rake. Also, you can replace the dry shampoo, which is full of chemicals, and leaves a residue on the dog with a 1 ot 3 water and vinegar solution. The goal is to remove the undercoat without pulling or causing discomfort.

@revivedhomemaking once the borer larvae get into the stems, the plant is basically toast. There are ways to fight them before that stage. Several videos on here about that. Depending on your zone, it's possible to start new plants for harvest before fall frosts. In my area the borer is so bad I went to a different type of squash called Rampucante. They are resistant to the borers. A bit different looking squash, but early, small ones can be cooked like zucchini. The older more mature ones can be used like butternuts.
