Refreshing to hear my last name pronounced correctly, Zevgolis. I have long given up on correcting anything but the most absurd pronouncinations of it. Even recently my uncle Paul (or Butch as we call him) is as tough as they come, even in his 70s. Unique style, yet he got it done.
Here I am just a few days later realizing it is it you and the late great Earl Anthony calling this. My family ran a bowling center for years (October 2021, 60 years after it was opened by my grandfather) and I am here looking back. My dad is younger by less than a year from Paul but got consumed in running the business after my granddad (Paul and my dad's dad) died in a robbery in the mid 1970s at said bowling center. My pops was more like Paul more than I could ever think about truly, a great bowler, even with so few revs, a true stroker, yet they both understood angles, even before that was a real discussion. Another fun fact about me and my bowling family, the city I was born and raised in, yeah before us it was another person, and he was the first to switch from "waxing the alley" to oiling in, Mr Jimmy Matthews.
@07:53 looking back more... Even at 75+ years old, he still looks the same. Showed it to my son (who is only 9 with Autism and has a unique relationship with him) and he instantly said that is "Uncle Butch." Without a doubt age and years have happened, who hasn't it happend to, yet there is no mistaken his look. Also a few prayers could be had, Paul is going through a tough time even though he will no admit it.
I bowled this tournament in 1996 I think. That was a long time ago. I have never been able to find the standings or the telecast. I was a 3 pin from the show or top 8 not sure it was a long time ago.
Randy looks like he was being held hostage in that opening segment lol. But once the matches got underway, it’s very evident that even then he was very good at color commentary
