There is an easier way to do this.....all you have to do is line up the dots on the kickstarter shaft with the dot on the piece that slides in behind the kickstart spring. good video tho. helped.
Hey when I turn the clutch to hear for clicks I’m also hearing seeping/ whistle noises I don’t think I heard any of that in you vid, could it be shitty compression? I hope not because I just replaced the piston and rings yesterday on my bike
Hard to say without seeing/hearing myself... But I'd say if you just replaced them then you probably don't have poor compression - UNLESS your cylinder walls are super beat up. I'd assume the hissing you're hearing is normal - the compression created has to have somewhere to go and pushes through slight opening of intake or exhaust valves as they open the cylinder approaches top dead center.
Hey pal. I have a huge issue! I have a SSR170tr My issue is that my kick starter isn’t grabbing, it’s like a ratchet sound... however if i do it very very gently i can get it to hook and literally start. but if i blind kick it, my shin goes right to the foot peg. If you have ANY advice please let me know. I figured it was the shaft but who knows. please help if you can thanks so much
Sounds to me like maybe your clutch isn't adjusted correctly...? Based on what you said, I'd start with that. That being said... You're in neutral without holding the clutch in?
@@kaynealejohnson5747 you remove the screws that hold inn the foot pegs to allow more room to remove the cover also it has silicone so pry it off with a flathead
I lost a peice of throttle cable when it ripped sounded like it was in the carb then while riding it was clacking hard af and while i was riding it just cut off and locked on mep
@@jeremyerickson6570 oh man... If it's not grabbing anything at all I'd assume there might be a problem inside the case...? When you kick it do you hear a ratcheting type sound? Will it engage if you crank the kick start slowly?
@@shainejacobs9986 no it does not engage at all but if I put it in gear it grabs I don't know what the problem may be but a new motors about $300 not to bad but I would like to fix the one I have if I can
also..... This video is the best....I was able to free up my kickstart!!!! Thank You so much. Bike still doesn't run when I turn the key though. I probably didn't wire it correctly. It would be cool to get a video with detailed step by step instruction on hot to wire it,. I search the internet and am unable to find one with great detail. wow this comment is long. LOL I need help with wiring. My solenoid clicks but that's all it does.
