Caught her just in time! I do adore these Hinoki’s. I just ordered Gitte. Yours looks like she’s a Gitte, do you know? 8 years is a long relationship. I know you’ll surprise us with her comeback and I’m so at the edge of my seat lol! Thank you for including us viewers in her journey❤
This video is such a pleasure! I so enjoy these tours. This morning I had pen and paper to jot down a few things for next season’s shopping list. Nora Leigh being at the top! Lol! Thank you as always!❤ Your a pretty special person, I hope you know! Your plants already do🥰
You are so kind! I was pleasantly surprised either the Norah Leigh that its blooms are longer lasting than most Phloxes. The variegation of the foliage!
I really like the long needles and open look of this lovely tree. I didn’t realize her size till I saw you standing next to her. She’s bigger than I thought! Nice candle prune as well. I like how you halved some. Little cool pruning tips, Thank you!❤
@@GardenNotes Yes! I love the golden conifers! I went on a gold conifer shopping spree earlier this year. Nesbit’s Gold scotch pine, (3)Carstens Wintergold Mugo a Laarheide Mugo and Goldilocks Japanese white pine. The most picky one is the white pine. The others just don’t care where they are, they just grow merrily along like life’s a dream lol! I’m so glad you have so many conifers too! I love seeing them❤️🙏
@@cindyl3916 you have such a collection. I’ve grown to like them in recent years when my husband started to buy them. They are way more interesting than I originally thought!
This is super neat video showing the progression of this plant. I’m so glad you made this because now I know what mine will look like lol! I planted a very small starter this season. She now has 2 flowers but I didn’t know what they’d turn out to be till I saw this. Thank you!❤
Looks great. I’ve got a boxwood about that size I may try to convert to this style. Why are you doing the pruning in stages, is it to ease shock on the plant? Thanks for your videos🤙

Another wonderful video! Autumn Joy really puts on a show here. I know better now what I’ll do with mine. I like looking in the background too…Did I see a conifer wired for bonsai? 🤔Thank you!❤
Gosh, this got me thinking. Mine have finally turned color.Today I got to wondering wondering if I should still cut mine back this late in the season. Seeing the new growth on yours made me question if stimulating new growth on mine is a bad idea since frost could be just 3 months out. Help! Lol! What do you think please?❤
I would not for the same reason/thought. In my case, this will be flat on the ground had I not cut back. I left all others sort of intact. Likely to work with them later this year or early next year.
I didn't get any email whatsapp number facebook instagram anything to talk to you so I commented on the video if you give me a chance to contact you But I can provide these documents to your channel. I am a digital marketer. I have an agency. If you want, you can come to a five minute zoom meeting with me. Thank you.
I like seeing you work on this. Always makes me want to experiment on one! This morning I was researching and stumbled on Buxus harlandii “Goliath”. Never heard of it. It’s said it’s foliage is different and it’s like it’s on steroids lol! The area looks beautiful😍 Thank you!❤
I enjoy pruning it. Like a meditation with tangible results if that make sense at all! I looked up Goliath. Its leaves are longer than round , like mine. Interesting!
@@CoCoBliss4 Lol! It’s so fun to be able to connect with people that have same plant interests! Thank you for that comment. Now that end of season sales are hitting it’s a good time to pick one up for experimentation😎 Curious if you don’t mind, are you in Canada? I’m Oklahoma. Cheers friend!
Holy cow is she loaded with buds? I really like the shape. Almost naturally tiered and cloud like. The Cypress looks taller and so pretty! Those color flowers with the Cyress’ chartreuse will explode! Nice🥳Thank you!❤
Hey, thank you so much. I just spent an hour dividing one section and now I have a much better grasp on the "mother" rhizome that I can toss. I can better see how many offshoots there are and they no longer feel precious to me! I'll give many away and feel more at ease about the thinning as I understand what to do now thanks to you!!!
I have never seen that hole guard that you used in your pot. Where did you find it? I always look forward to your posts. The garden is beautiful and the music fits well.
Thank you for your kind words. I’m honoured! Cone Flower Pot Mesh Pad, from Amazon 30 count for Canadian $11. I have used for about a year and find the drainage better than other flat mesh. I have just re-ordered myself!
I have so many that have multiplied, but this year they must be too crowded because I did not get any blooms whereas last year, I had a plethora. I can no longer tell which ones bloomed because I have long since cut the flower stalk. I’m not sure what I would cut out since I have only many, many fans of leaves. I dread digging them up because they are so surrounded by other plants and vines like vinca. Any suggestions? I will keep this video in mind for the future for sure. Thank you.
I know exactly what you mean. When I used to leave them for a few years, they expand outward so quickly with a hole in the center. Not only is it crowding other plants, or in the way of walkways, they simply do not look good. I do not dig unless I absolutely have to. I left the flower stalk alone till I can work on. If the flower stalks are gone or even after I had my first go, I cut wherever I do not want them to head towards. As you have said, they multiply easily. Will not bloom if too crowded anyway so no worry if over-thinned. If course, that is my take since mine is supplementary to other plants. If yours are a main focus, different story. Hope this helps. Thanks for sharing your thoughts & questions.
Yes, it's a corm. There are blooms later in the season, normally lower than the first round. I am guessing these are blooms from baby plants, that take longer to form blooms. Not exactly a re-bloom in my opinion since they are different plants (babies). This is in comparison to re-bloom on Phlox, where blooms come from the same plant, hence re-bloom. My Hosta has gone through the first round of blooms from mature plants. They are now sending flower stalks from the baby plants. Two round of blooms but not a re-bloom. From my observation only and may not be correct. Thanks for your comments!🙏🏻🙏🏻
I’ll enjoy watching this cutie take off in the new pot. She’ll probably put on interesting shape as she spreads. And I bet quickly too. I know nothing about Flakys but the several types of Juniper I have do so well here I’ve developed a real respect for them. For 5 years I have been using juniper berries, burdock root, licorice root and green tea to make my daily tea. I buy them in bulk, not tea bags. They have some really good health benefits . Thought you’d find that interesting 😉💫Thank you for sharing!❤
Yes, I do find this interesting. Never would have guessed they can be used for tea. All the ingredients are available in bulk! Must have a large quantity of plants to harvest enough for tea! Thanks for sharing!
Mine are prune group c meaning they bloom on new woods. Prune back in late Fall early Spring. Mine are very thick and productive. 1. their maturity. Been their for quite a few years 2. Cut back helps encourage better growth 3. Slow release all purpose fertilizer in Spring (after leaf buds open) and Summer (after first round of blooms) 4. Consistent moisture 5.Keep base cool. I place a plant near the base The above are how I keep mine. I have videos on cut back - will send your way. Hope they can help. Again, thanks for your questions. Happy to share what I know.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_Ye5SVWc0dE.htmlsi=g9hBwy7X7YspmxCC I find pruning stimulated growth for 90% of plants. If I do not want a plant to bulk up, I will not cut anything off
