Hi ANDREW Tks for comment. Selling casting kits is a thing i do not think about due to the price of brass at the scrapyard. I've boring job to do before starting machining parts. Bfn Olivier
Hi kev Thanks for comment. Most of main parts are done. i did some off camera (steam chest and steam cover). i still have a video to upload showing all the castings. I thank you very much for your support but i'm thinking about stopping making videos due to the poor number of subscribers and views i have. it takes a lot of time to film and edit videos and result is not there. . i'll probably make a video showing the machine assembled and running. Anyway i've not decided yet. Thanks again for your support and have a nice sunday. All the best Olivier
@@OL6162. I hope you don't stop, it's a great part of the hobby, i enjoy what you do, i know it takes much time that many don't appreciate. But i only do it because it spurs me on to get jobs finished, as i have low motivation and mental health issues, since the death of my very young daughter. hope to keep seeing you regards and you have a nice Sunday too, my Sunday will be very Stessfull watching England in the euro final⚽⚽⚽⚽😄😄😄😄👍👍👍👍👍👍 Kev
Hi KEV Thanks for comment. Yes the result is good. I'll now cast all the small parts (steam chest cover, bearings.....) off caméra as it is always the same process. Have a nice week-end. Bfn Olivier
Hi ANDREW I would not say i'm an expert but so far i'm happy with the results. There are some very little Imperfections that will disappear after machining. Have a good day. Cheers Olivier.
oh Olivier i somehow missed P4 i was probably watching England football match,!!! great shame it did'nt go to plan, I could hear the adult language from here!!! see you next time👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 atb Kev
Hi KEV Thanks for comments... It takes a long time to prepare the mould but the result is good.... A bit of a shame about the cylinder pedestal next time I'll put more brass into the crucible. Bfn Olivier.
Hi ANDREW Thanks for comment. Yes result is not bad at all and i'm happy with. The next part will be the cylinder. The other complicated parts to cast will be the flywheel and the machine frames. I keep fingers crossed...🤞🤞 Have a good day. Bfn Olivier.
Hi Olivier Nice bit of internal threading, i can't approach it in reverse as my chuck could unscrew, one downfall of the Myford i know it could be modified but i've not got round to it yet!!!🤣🤣 Great job👍👍👍👍👍👍 ATB Kev
Hi KEV Thanks for comments. I did the thread in reverse as i thought it was easier to do it that way. I did not want to hit the bottom of the bore doing it the normal way. Have a nice week-end Bfn Olivier
Hi ANDREW Thanks for watching and comment. The scrapyard near where i live has changed ownership and they are no longer authorized to sell brass scraps to individuals..... what i do not understand. I know an other scrapyard but at 35 kms from me. I'll have a glance and see what they have. When will you upload your next video on your engine Have a nice w.e Bfn Olivier
Hi Olivier. That is bad that they don't sell scrap brass to individuals. Unfortunately other properties in life have given way to my engineering antics. Hopefully I will be able to get another video out soon. Happy hols! Andrew
Bon week-end.
Hi Olivier Excellent job. What can't you fix with a lathe and a mill? Don't tell your neighbours! I always find it very satisfying fixing things around the home. Cheers Andrew
Hi ANDREW Thanks. It would have been a shame to buy a brand new station not trying to repair the anemometer. I keep the secret secret.... my neighbours do know know about my machines....🤣🤣 You’re right it's satisfying fixing the problems and also the pleasure of using the lathe and the milling machine. Have a nice week-end. OLIVIER.
Bon w.e
Hi Olvier Great Job, and neat videoing👍👍👍👍👍👍I've always wanted a weather station, when ive not much on i will have to make one, been saying that for years though🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 atb Kev
Hi Andrew Yes plenty of chips for that part. i think i'll start casting in december. the price of a kilogram of old brass taps in the scrapyards is too high at the moment . So i'll wait a bit. thanks for the comment and have a look at part 9. all the best Olivier
