The Rating Pistol most likely rates the potential/likelihood of someone turning into an Emanator of an Aeon (or 'their' Aeon? With some characters, it's hard to say if they actively follow an Aeon. For example, People on the Luofu are following Lan/The Hunt, Belobogians follow Qlipoth/The Preservation, but Kafka for example is completely unknown). The People who have an invalid reading are either already confirmed Emanators (Acheron, Jing Yuan) or very likely Emanators (Sampo, Luocha). As for March, due to most of her past being locked away might interfere with the rating, or she has closer ties to Fuli than we know as of now. The top scores fit with that idea: Silver Wolf (100) is most likely following Nous, as Punklorde is described as a cyberworld, so very technological and with some very intelligent people. with Silver Wolf having mastered Aether editing and being able to go toe-to-toe with some of the most intelligent Genius Society members, she'd be a prime candidate for an Emanator, if she'd accept. Yanqing (99) is groomed by Jing Yuan to be his successor, and he has all the potential and the character to become a solid General, so he's very likely to become an Emanator of Lan at some point in his future after Jing Yuan. In comparison, Fu Xuan (77) would be the second choice so to say if something happened to Yanqing, but she's not in line with the path of the Hunt as Yanqing or Jing Yuan are, hence the lower reading. Pela (93) probably fits best character-wise to Preservation, as she usually stays very calm in most scenarios and tries to work out a way that's best for Belobog and which would preserve what they already have. In comparison, Bronya (37) and Seele (33) have the right mindset for Preservation, but are way too emotional, which would cloud their judgement to choose what would be necessary for Preservation. Argenti (91) feels like the perfect Knight of Beauty, so he'd had a very high likelihood of becoming an Emanator of Idrila, if she wasn't gone. Kafka (90) is hard to tell, since we have no clue what Aeon she actually follows, if any. The Gameplay Paths obviously don't match the paths they follow. Given Kafka's mindset and her ability to manipulate people, this might be Enigmata, Nanook or Aha maybe? Dan Heng (88), shows a lot of characteristics that are important for an Emanator of the Hunt ; The Question Mark when turning into IL would be because in this transformation his former life as Dan Feng comes to the front, which in turn would've been a zero due to his crimes against the Luofu and the Hunt in general, trying to use the Abundance to resurrect someone and all that. The bottom scores also fit with the idea: Jingliu (0) tried helping Dan Feng with his endeavours and is therefore basically dishonored in the eyes of Lan, hence no chance to ever become an Emanator for him. HuoHuo (0 / 5) could never be an Emanator of Lan due to her very mismatching Personality with her Aeon. Topaz (2) is a good IPC officer and hard worker, but given the story we've seen from her, some of her personality probably doesn't line up with Preservation all that well. I'll admit this one is a bit iffy though. Herta (4) is only the puppet of the true Herta. Nous is probably not very interested in a remote controlled Puppet, hence the low rating. True Herta would most likely end up as invalid. Welt (5) probably doesn't actively follow any paths due to his backstory. He joined the Trailblazers because he wanted to help people though. Trailblazer (84) is probably a special case - the rating could either mean we have a good likelihood of becoming an Emanator of Akivili, or one of Nanook in my opinion. However, given the rather unique situation, the rating might be more general in that Trailblazer has a high likelihood of becoming an Emanator of literally any Aeon. After all, so far we already had 3 (4) encounters with Aeons: Nanook, Qlipoth & Xipe all glanced at us, and in some way probably 'blessed' us too: Nanook unwittingly with the Stellaron inside us, while Qlipoth and Xipe approved of our actions and most likely aided us, which is why we can switch paths so freely, something nobody else can do. A fourth encounter is Aha, who seems to be watching us. We even heard his bells and laugh while fighting Phantylia
i think all these characters share something in common and it's that their Big Power Reveal is a plot-relevant thing. you could say the same of dan heng, but the pistol actually has a bit with him (it gets flabberghasted and then angry at him for 'cheating' to get a high rating). Sampo being a Big Boy in the Masked Fools is supposed to be mysterious. we don't know much about March aside from her cloae connection to Fuli (and even her companion quest leaves that mysterious). jing yuan being a genius is supposed to be a slow inference you get over time when everything happens as he predicts. luocha's Involved in something and he's supposed to be suspicious. acheron being revealed as an actual emanator is a Big Deal. TL;DR i think this is more to preserve surprise plot point integrity than an indication that the other characters are emanators, necessarily.
Idk about Luocha but Jing Yuan has been confirmed to have the command over a power similar to an emanator(Thunderlord), Sampo is likely one of Elation with how he operates, March 7th is the biggest mystery with how she's purposely had her memories blocked AND has remembrance plastered over her like she's from the Garden.
Okay hear me out: what it rates is actualy how far one is from reaching theyre full potential. Yaanquing said to be the most talanted fighter in the game, him gaining 99 points (aka reaching 1%? of what he can be capable) makes sense. Welt is basicaly done and all with everything, but gone over hes prime and hes score is a measy 5. Topaz is going out 110% 24/7 about everything a score of 2. So on and so on. Once you see things the way that smaller number is better and it only compares you to yourself the gun suddenly makes a whole lot more sense.
Acheron is confirmed emanator of the Nihility. Jing Yuan, other Xianzhou generals and admiral are emanators of the Hunt. Sampo is very likely to be emanator of the Elation. I'm looking at March with big suspicion.
