Just picked mine up, and shot about 50 or so through it. I noticed the slide spring tension is pretty strong. Have you ran into that and did it go away after putting more rounds through it? Thanks.
@@cameronmonahan5867 yeah i noticed it immediately after a few round through. What grain are you using? I use 115/124/147 grain. I think that’s normal for this kind of gun. It did take a lot of effort compared to other pistols to rack the slide back. I don’t think that’s anything faulty with your pistol nor mine. Just continue shooting it and vary your ammo grain. I don’t think there is a real “break in” for pistols. As of now, it “didn’t go away” I just seem to work around the pistol, I don’t even notice it at all.
They are about 30-40% lighter than the stock Grips. They are VERY agressive and have no grtip sqeak when gripping hard. I shoot 147 grain and have no issues. 115 grain also have no snappy issues. The gun is perfect with the Lok Grips. Brass would look bad-ass on this pistol!
I was wondering the same thing. Without the steel frame figured the heavier grips would do better to balance the gun and less snaps. Good to hear they don’t effect it much and feel nice
Hammer over striker. Hammer: pro: single/double action, safety (if you get the version with safety) so you can carry like a 1911. Con: cost more than striker. Striker: pro: from factory good stock trigger, cheaper than hammer fired Con: single action, no safety, cannot pull trigger again to see if the round can go off. Tbh. If you practice safe gun handling, you do not need safety. One of the benefits of HK compared to glocks is the fact you do not need to pull the trigger when disassembling the handgun. Everything about the pistol from factory is great. It’s even better since they now have optic cut on the slide (vp9).
I’m doing up a vp9 OR to be my new 9 Mike suppressor host. Had a p30LS before and decided to give the striker fired HK a shot. Glad I did, the vp’s are so much easier to shoot than the p series guns. Give one a try sometime.
Such a beautiful gun. Just ordered my tactical and am looking forward to getting it in hand. Did you install the MeProLight sights yourself? If so, was it difficult?
Get some! My plans are to pick up an extra set of tritium sights and jet funnel. I asked my local gun store to help me push them in. There are tools you can buy but for the sake of time, the FFL where I picked up my pistol also helped me install the sights. Used a laser bore sight and shot a few rounds extra to get it zero

I don’t know what the requirements are for different laws enforcement agencies. I also do not work in that field. I just like to go to the range from time to time. I feel like this pistol could be a good competition oriented tool. Sorry I cannot be of good help.
how are you gonna mount the RMR HD, is gonna be a wild test, sig got the holes for it, there is no information on how to mount the HD to the sig x5 , no official plates/screws recommended
I’m real curious are the barrels interchangeable for P226’s like it could fit any 226 barrels? Like between normal standard ones or other one with suppressed plugging in?
I do not have a new staccato. I have an old STI (which I think it’s better quality) however if you were to compare the Sti to sig legion. The Sti is still smoother shooting.
oh that tough one to answer. I only have a HK USP 9 tactical that is suppressor ready, I do not have a 226 that is suppressor capable. Right now I enjoy shooting the USP suppressed. I noticed that it runs better suppressed. I cannot tell which to get. But from what I read and seen, the USP can eat +p rounds like it’s nothing. But again. Google, do your research, go to your LGS. Try to feel them in your hand to see which one works for you. Heck see if the range has some for you to test fire. FYI, the p226 suppressed barrel has different metrics compared to the HK USP thread pitch.
@@Opfor-NYC Right on, thanks for the feedback. Why do you say your usp9 runs better with a suppressor than without ? I've held a 226 and feels great, just never held a usp9 yet.
@@jsharp9735 I have an sig 1911 and shooting that suppressed vs unsuppressed. A lot of back pressure and recoil. Compared to the ups. It’s night and day. I know I’m comparing a 45 vs 9 but it just seems the USP platform handles being suppressed better than most other handgun platforms
The latest technology with MIM is producing the strongest MIM ever. Tolerances are precise. At this price point, MIM is a reality. Something to consider about MIM.... When NATO tests pistols and the round counts run into 60K, 80K, 100K, even 150K rounds with no parts breakage on certain Beretta, Glock, HK pistols, these pistols use MIM parts!
Recoil seems minimal. That being said; it’s a heavy gun, that shoots 9mm. But yeah I do notice it recoils a lot less. It doesn’t feel too nose heavy. The integrated slide ports help a lot. Feel wise; it feels great in the hands. I suggest you pick one up and get a feel of it at your local gun store.
Thanks. Not worried about recoil only how the followup shots return back to original zero. Some compd guns dip (nighthawk in particular) I’ll definitely be picking one up.
@diamondaranda336 Not sure which model of P7, or P210? If P210 I'd probably go with the American Target model. Probably slightly less satisfying, bit way cheaper than German models and practically the exact same
