Hey loves! welcome to my Life channel, here I will share with you all my home related and life related hacks, DIY and some vlogging here and there! Hope you enjoy the content!
The cross member at the bottom of my drain was broken so I had to use this method. It wouldn't come out at first so I used a heat gun to soften the putty. After a while of heating and twisting, and repeating, I finally got it loose. Thanks.
It worked!!! I did yell out "yes Queen!" when I saw it finally turning. Your amazing. I am unemployed again and figured that a penny saved is a penny earned so I am going to DIY a bunch of stuff around the house and yard. Thanks for helping a lady out. Just a city girl here learning little by little. I am refinishing an old tub. Thank you so much!!!
WOW! That was too easy. It also worked with regular plyers! I bought 3 special tools, tried a heat gun, tried to get under edge with flat edge, argued with husband, looked at 10 other videos. Yes I'm subscribing to you and see what else you make easy to do. Thank you.
Genuinely helpful. I have a 50 year old drain I need to replace. I have been uncertain about how to proceed. I do a lot of diy, this is one of the "Best Videos" on this subject. This looks real world. I had some idea of how to, but this is very helpful.
@@dostufph still wet, do not let epoxy dry before adding veins. The first two steps of the epoxy must be done in 45 minutes that’s for the white and the veins and then I waited about an hour or two and added the clear untinted epoxy over to finish
Oh my gosh, my drain looked exactly like that. Tried your trick, was working, but it was stubborn. In the end, just the top ring portion broke off. On the plus side, I was able to get the new tub shoe in there and it looks marvelous :)
You were a big help, I wasn't thinking outside the box , There was a small piece left where the cross piece broke off , I used pliers and turning it with a closed wrench , Thank you
Drain hasn't been working right for a few years. Finally decided to fix it today and the drain basket crossbar broke immediately. Thank you so much for the idea that on how to get it out. You saved me so much frustration. You are my hero and my Queen.
I enjoyed this video, I was searching for a DIY for raised beds using pallets, the fact that I only need one is even better, my basic tool will work and yes I'm inspired woohoo...being a newbie you helped me out seeing how you did it which is something I can follow and do, I'm rounding up my pallets...and subscribing, thanks for sharing!!
Oh my gosh. Looked all over to find vids on how to change the drain. Once I really got to looking, I realized the top of my old drain is gone. Only the threads are left inside the pvc. It’s as if it’s one piece. Therefore I cannot install the new drain until this one is out- unless I want to pay hundreds for a plumber to go behind my shower and install a new drainage system. I go to YT to find a meditation video and this came up. I’m gonna try you idea on my next day off. Wish me luck. 🙏🏻🤞🏻
@@germandimplez if this doesn’t work take the pliers put it in the drain (don’t let it hit the drain pipe inside) just where the threads are open it in the drain using both hands and make sure it has a jam (I’m not sure how to say it) but jammed or catches onto the inside of the thread while holding it open with both hands and turn with both hands while it is in a jammed locked position in the drain thread. Gosh I hope this made sense
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You explain the process quickly, which is important to me me limited time and you mention how the plant self propagates in nature, which l believe is a primary part of your information sharing. Love the way you present your posts, straight to the point and educating on mother nature's self propagation. Thank you
This is great to see! I have the same style 3 piece set with the camel hump back that my cats have done a real number on!! I have everything I need to get going but the only part that is worrying me are the seat cushions. They are are both one large piece with a higher knee roll in front and is sewn in several places. It's not the typical individual 2 or 3 cushions and I've never seen a video showing how to cover one. There is a seam along the top where the knee roll meets the lower part of the cushion that runs all along the top and that's where mine has ripped and separated right through the fabric and the foam. I don't know if I should just get rid of all the old foam and start with new foam but sorting out the heights and densities for the both heights then gluing it all together....shoot me. Or try and work with what is there. I'm not very experienced with sewing yet but actually bought a machine to do this!! And this seat cushion has so many different pieces to sew together like a puzzle with the sipper at the back. I am just not that confident a seamstress at this point. I may just try and cheat and cover the whole thing with one piece and just tuck it neatly. Anything would look better than a ripped couch!! I actually tried to get the big bottom cushion done professionally and they refused because I already bought my own fabric!! ggrrr I still don't understand that!! And I bought fabric with a damask pattern so there's a whole bunch of issues with matching up the pattern everywhere and using up way more fabric but luckily I decided I wanted to use more than one fabric and colour on them to give a more custom eccentric look. I figure if a mess up I can add a nice trim, gimp, braid, rope and I bought 6 inch long really thick fringe for the bottom. Let's hope kitties don't go to town on that!! And I have an ottoman I need to do as well!! But those darn bottom cushions are giving me nightmares! I also bought the cardboard trim that goes under the top part of the fabric where you staple to keep it straight but yours came out really nice without it. Maybe I don't need it. If you have any suggestions for the bottom cushions, I'm all ears. I have 2 cats and a dog as well and they have really destroyed this set, those little buggers, they have so many scratch pads but there's nothing more satisfying than digging those nails into really expensive fabric and shredding it!! I really don't want to put that plastic around the bottom, it looks so old Granny!!! They will be in deep doodoo once I recover everything if they start scratching again!!! Any tips for that? Thanks so much and take good care! LC
Great video. I have used discarded rolls or scraps of roofing fabric that our local roofers dump after finishing a job site. As you know these are thick so that they help line the raised bed to keep the soil within. Yes, pallets are a great source of material that is cheap and useful as raised garden beds. And the 4ft by 4ft dimensions of these beds seem ideal in size for the small yard that I have at home. Keep up the good work.
I was just about to order that $25 tool. Not any more! Please don't take this the wrong way but I watched 10 RU-vid video's all by men and they used special tools to remove abd install the drain. $35 worth of tools i will probably only use once. It takes a woman to show me how I can do it with tools I already have. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I'm disabled with no expendable cash and you just made my day!😊. Now where's that darn hammer!!!
We really could be long lost sisters! I’m a master seamstress too, who knows just as much about tools in the garage as I do about designing/sewing couture gowns (& I cook, bake, garden, upholster, etc -I’m a younger Martha Stewart 😂)! When I don’t like something I find out how to change it and make it happen! My/your tastes and styles are even the same, right down to pets and jewelry (I adore your wedding ring set)😊 I stumbled upon your channel bc I’m drowning in grief and need distraction, your voice is very calming and comforting. Back in the pandemic I lost my best friend since college, and I think she somehow directed me to you now during this loss. She was the best. You even look a bit alike. Anyway, don’t be so hard on yourself, you. are. amazing! Doing all you’ve done to remodel almost your entire home -while also raising 4 kids & being a loving wife- *and* inspiring thousands of people to do their own projects is awesome!!! You are a lovely human being and we appreciate you 🙏🙏🙏(anyone who wants to nit-pick you should really feel free to go elsewhere!)
@@TwiggyGrant1 I understand the grief hun, glad you found my page I lost my baby brother in 2021 and it’s been hard but he helps me get through it in his own way ❤️
Another great job -professional looking results that are stunning. I was wondering if you had a breakdown of what you spent in total on each project in your kitchen or even as a whole for your DIY renovation? The whole project is just awesome 🤩
What beautiful results! Your entire kitchen looks professionally done and you did it on your own! I hope to tackle my granite countertops eventually. Thank you for the inspiration and advice.😊
