Salas try’s to hit all the ball too hard leaving it up, Martinez was able to be pick the ball even when out of position on the back. Hitting hard then soft will keep your opponents guessing.

The commentator should keep in mind that the people from Argentina are "argentinians" and "argentine" (how he is calling the ladies), is an adjective to describe things from this country.
The match winning serve looked like a screen serve to me, based on the video here (didn't see in person). In fact, based on the video, it looks pretty clear that it was a screen.
It was very close, but if you slow it down it looks like the ball passes Vargas with maybe 18 inches of clearance but was clearly separating from her by the time it crossed the short line. Paola had a clean enough look at it and was just way to loose with the return for a match point. She had to hope Vargas would skip the putaway.
Reading the chat, Norm McNutt is wrong and seems to not know the rules on foot faults. If *any* part of the foot is on the line, it's legal. She's consistently stepping with a very small portion of her foot still on the line. The final serve was clearly not a foot fault, half her foot is on the line.
Tim, you mentioned seeing some unusual shots this weekend, and I’m curious what you mean. Are you saying unusual to refer to the players taking some high risk/high reward shots?
Same serve at beginning of this match was called for a screen. Screen servers know how to manipulate the game to their advantage. I agree with the receiver and the referee is not consistent with the calls. Racquetball need some visual markers on court floor. Somebody calculate X,Y,Z then layout zones A,B or Left,Right
Hmmm... It seems that Mendez, Lawrence and Scott are all missing from this doubles match. If I didn't know better, I'd say this was singles between Vargas and Herrera. 🤔
Longoria is the smartest and most accurate player on the tour. She doesn't have great speed, and I never see her dive for a ball, but she makes up for it with unmatched court savvy.
