The song, “Cadillac Style,“ is so catchy and brilliant. This ad campaign was the last gasp of Cadillac being an elegant but stodgy brand for whites. This is pre-Escalade, when black millionaire rappers and NBA stars started to make Cadillac into something cool and hip. Only Cadillac was able to make that transition.

Back when Cadillacs actually DID mean style. By the 90s, they had unfair "old people's car" jibes thrown at them, something that they tried to combat in the 2000s with the CTS-V and Escalade, the latter only seemed to make things worse as it was seen as a rapper's car, before going partially electric and competing in the World Endurance Championship. The CTS-V Blackwing, in my opinion, is the only car in the Cadillac range that actually does mean style nowadays. Shame.
@bullrunready I was born in 2006, but I'm a big fan of proper classics like 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s Cadillacs. Therefore, I think that the "old people's car" jibes that have been thrown at Cadillacs, Buicks, Rovers, Suzuki WagonRs and Honda Jazzes (Honda Fits in the US) are unfair.
