that intersection x bike crossing in 4:07 probably the deadliest crossing if I ever see in dutch XD But, love the vibes and direction of the city growing on this episode
Damn, only now I see the 8-14 FPS in the corner. I always thought you guys have massive computers or that I can't configure the mods to make that game run smoothly, but now my 18-30 despite heavy detailing looks pretty good. Btw love the series!
Just came across your channel and as a fellow Dutchie I absolutely love this build! One question: how do you draw the canals? I'm building a dutch city as well but cannot get the canals to look as amazing as you did them. Maybe a short tutorial?
Hey man, very nice. I am building a scaled-down version of Groningen myself. I used to study there for 5 years and am feeling nostalgic a bit =) Keep up the good work, it is nice to get new ideas from other builders. Doe!
Cringe industrialisation, fuck Paradox for making this system, you ought to have resisted the car-centric dystopia and built public transport Otherwise based Wagenvoort
I took a look at those areas you mentioned and see there aren’t really any parking areas. Just lots of street parking. So you did that accordingly, I guess
Brilliant, as always. Wouldn’t like to navigate some of those complicated intersections in my car though! God job you now have buses so I can leave the driving to a professional!
@@Dietsch_III because I saw in the video the white boarder just close where you were building the residential area so i was wondering if you are gonna build just a portion of the map or its entireness
I do so love seeing this city come together. And having a little interwar neighbourhood might not be something every city has but honestly some towns in the Netherlands have a small interwar neighbourhood so I like how it works in Wagenvoort 😄
I did that in the beginning of my Groningen build. I started with Haren and as soon as that was done, I ignored street names completely because it’s just too time consuming
Love your videos, ehm, yeah, nice industrial complex. It reminds me a bit of like the factory in towards the north end of Delft 🤔 As for neighbourhood names maybe some of the old "zeehelden" are controversial these days but there is usually a "Zeeheldenbuurt" in most dutch cities. Maybe it could be interesting to name it that and just shortly acknowledge the somewhat controversial namesake but then explain that it still is a part of dutch cities and culture today 🤷
16:02 I recommend using the "arrange at line tool" in the network multi-tool rather then fidgeting with the nodes 18:13 I recommend using the "block services" by Naylin (also can be used to replace the service buildings that you can see at 10:50)
This is one of the best series on CS1 right now! i do have a couple suggestions for further expansion of the city limits. You could add older factories, prisons (i believe the old one in Haarlem is on tht workshop), a university campus, a rail yard, a cemetery, sports fields and community gardens (volkstuinen in dutch ;)
