Cool video! I bought the Wildcat Whisper because that was the only one they had at a store next to me and then realized there’s no open sights. I emailed Gamo to see if there’s sights that can be installed on it but they never responded back. I’ll sight in the scope I guess 😂. Hopefully this scope isn’t horrible because I have no money left to buy another scope right now.
Nice to see someone using iron sites for a change, almost every other video on pellet rifles show them using a scope. To me adding a scope just adds another variable to worry about, especially if your hunting. All it takes is a bump,temp changes,scope screw coming just a little bit loose and there goes your shot. Thank for the great video. Also, for those who feel the need to put a scope on every pellet rifle, unless you live out on the plains or a desert, how far of an actual shot are you going to take? Where I'm at you may have up to a 30yd shot but more than likely it will be within 25 yards or less. Do you really need a scope?
These are my go to pellets for thick skin, thick bone creatures. I got a chronograph coming in the mail soon I’m gonna post a video and get the velocity from the Gammo maxim

If you're going to make a video about longshots . . The least you could do is hit the target . . You should have named this video I can't hit the target at long range . . . Edit video in just put the shots and that you actually make and hit the target
Umarex recommends a 150 round break in period before the gun will begin to shoot consistently. I have the 5,5mm (.22) caliber rifle. Some Crosman pellets fit loosely in the breach. The RWS, H&N, and JSB pellets have a better fit. Not sure which work best in 4,5mm (.177) caliber.
@@ieronmandan5 Excellent! Thanks. What distance was that again? I'm have great difficulty grouping under 10 inches at 25 yards. I may need to remove the scope and see how it shoots with open sights to see if it's a scope issue.
@@edwardcokley9224 I removed my scope and rings and reassembled using a Wheeler FAT Wrench torque screwdriver. Rings to bases @ 45 in/lbs. Rings to scope @ 18 in/lbs (Vortex recommends no more than 18 in/lbs and no Loctite). If you choose to use Loctite, then only torque to 11 in/lbs as the thread locker will act as a lubricant which increases the set torque by about 7 in/lbs.
I have experience with 177 but want a 22 I like the pointed but always seem to have accuracy problems with them some will hit point of aim some will hit off I like the way they yaw but at the same time I’ve gotten good shots on black birds and they take more then one shot to down cause they yawed in the wrong direction like wing hit but exit out the lower back the hollow point have always been accurate for me and with good shot placement they down just about any small game I’ve shot with one shot and god placement I feel like the hollow points won on this test and the price for them is not bad either
How good is the center point scope that comes on it I have no reviews on it on how good the scoop is does it stay zeroed in or is it junk like all the other scopes
Absolutely junk i used a laser to try to bore sight it an the windage moves diagonally every few clicks u gotta go a few clicks down to sight it in an it never holds zero
If you were looking for a HP that opens up, check the H&N Crow Magnum 18.2gr pellet. They slap pretty hard, very accurate with my Gamo Raptor Whisper 22cal, and aren't super expensive. Great video! I like the butternut squash idea as it's dense enough to capture the pellets but soft enough to simulate some flesh. Cheers.
I've had mine for a few years and it was fairly accurate when I first got it. The scope worked well, but then after awhile it wouldn't zero for nothing. So, I took the scope off and used the regulate sites, which also worked well, but then the accuracy began to fall off little by little, and that was using quality pellets. I couldn't even hit a snake with it while almost standing right over it. This rifle is awful, and I haven't used it all that much.
