Thank you for the video, I mannaged to repair the broken barrel but since, I can't have control on aperture anymore. It's stuck at F0 and the autofocus don't work anymore too. Any idea of what I did wrong ?
Our problem is the m6 mark 2 the cmos battery has no charge and keeps resetting time and date during the main battery swap and yes I have always used Canon branded Batteries. Did you find a cmos battery when you took apart your m6?
Hi, thanks for the video! I found an extra cheap replacement dial listing where the metal plate is not included. Do you think it's possible to transfer the original plate to the new dial? Or is it safer to pay double for the whole assembly
It would have been helpful to show us how you replaced the SD card reader. It looks to me as if this would have required expert resoldering skills at the microscopic level. It's one thing to pull a camera apart, but it is at a whole new level of expertise to do motherboard repairs. I was quite disappointed that you just skipped past the most crucial part of this repair.

fixed my one, had the issue that the USM motor was working but not moving the lens unit, aswell when you moved the focusring. In think the "driving fork" or how it's name was somehow disengaged? do you know about such issue?
Very nice! I did this today (but only for dust removal) and everything went according to plan until I accidentally loosened the aperture blade so they fell out of position and now I can't figure out how to take out the actual aperture plate, so I can put them back into position. Do I need to disassembly the lens from the back to be able to do that?
I actually managed to put the diaphragm back together without taking it out. It was a challenge for sure and it took a few tries. You'll need a set of precision tweezers if you ever run into this problem (hopefully not).
Or maybe, the two spring clips behind the auto and manual switch have become unaligned and it won’t lift the gear high enough to disengage. Stripped it twice using this vid to find I only had to go 1/4 disassemble to fix it…
How can I buy a vc module with diafram and how much it costs? I, m from Brazil and my lens works except that I can't see diference on the viewfinder turning on or off the vc switch I use an R7 and R5.
Is there a problem to fix a 70-300 where the zoom is stuck? The lens is at its shortest when on 300, so the "tube" seems to be stuck somehow... The focusing works.

Please, I own the second generation lens. I have a problem when I shoot at 2.8. It does not give good details and clarity except when I shoot at f:5.0. What is the problem?

This video helped me alot, thank you very much. but after fixing the parts the focus is not working anymore in manuel or af, is it a calibration issue? I can hear the focus motor working but nothing changes when I look through the lens.
I did see the flex cable to the focus sensor was pinched when opening up. I ordered a new one, if this doesn't fix it I Will send the lens to you. Thank you for your reply.
Hello, 10:32 second into your film, during your reassembly, you use a Q tip…which has a purple side and a white side. What do you have on your q tip? I’m new to this whole subject of lens repair….and any help / knowledge would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your help, Sincerely, Joshua
On my SP 150-600 VC USD G2 nothing works with VC on. If I turn it off AF works great but no VC. I assume this is the VC unit but I can't find the part. How do I get in touch with you for repair, or parts? Thanks
What are the odds of me receiving some used garbage when ordering the part from China, on Ebay? 👀 Kind of a bummer that there doesn't seem to be a way to order the parts directly from Nikon.
