Welcome to Log Cabin Gaming, the channel that brings you Warhammer: Age of Sigmar battle reports and other Warhammer related stuff from well yeah, you guessed it.....a log cabin.
From batreps to painting tutorials or product reviews, our aim is to give you fun enjoyable experience where you can wile away the hours viewing the best of what the hobby has to offer.
If you enjoy our videos please don't be shy, give it a thumbs up and maybe leave us a comment - that is the childhood equivalent of thanking your friends parents for having you over and enjoying your afternoon with your friend - it lets us know that we're doing something right and you want more.
You can also join us on Patreon and help us grow the channel - at the moment there are no 'traditional' Patreon bribes.....errrrr...I mean perks as it would just distract from what we want to be doing but we will always look after you, even if its sending you some dice or a t-shirt
Thank you! I realize this video is from 5 years ago so I don't expect you to respond, but did you have to do any drilling? Sorry if you mentioned/showed it and I missed it.
Yes, i didnt use PVA glue - not sure if it would have given me the effect i wanted. I've used it when i've done Mordant Earth on its own but found the cracks came out too large for my personal liking
This was a great video. Thanks so much for going step by step. Also I really appreciate that you list all the paints and tech. Paints you used in the information section. Simply great job!
i really like how this has turned out, I'm starting with my Orruk army and I've been searching for so long for a nice yellow armor colour and I think I've got some inspiration now, thanks mate
Glad it was of use to you. Yellows notoriously tricky to paint so I was hoping to shortcut a lot of the steps but still have a decent looking army at the end of it. Thanks for your feedback and good luck with your Orruks 👊
Kharadrons are not a beginner friendly army tbh - so much goes wrong when they are forced into melee before they are ready for it. Fly high is a key ability which keeps them alive.
Yeah for sure. They were terrifying in AoS 2.0 as they had so many more triumphs to choose from. Not sure if they’ve been neutered but they’ve had to change their game play or list builds to compensate for the heavy changes
I remember back in the day when the Blades of Khorne came on the table on this channel, you usually saw multiple Bloodthirsters. So this was an interesting change...not that there's anything wrong with Bloodthirsters of course!
😂. Thanks Marc, I DO like my Bloodthirsters. Here I wanted a few on the table with the ability to try and summon more in quickly which is I went for multiple minimum sized units to try and grind through the blood tithe generation as fast as possible. Glad (hope!) you enjoyed the nuanced difference.
He guys loved the battle report but I got one quest: what if you make the bloodsecrator the wizard, do you still need to re-roll the successful casts ?
Unfortunately yes you would because the ability it targets is ‘all wizards’ and units are affected by their own aura unless it specifically says OTHER units or similar. I like your thinking though 😂
Yes, they’re part of a garrison so when you’re part of a garrison you measure distance and line of sight from the thing they’re garrisoned. They count as being in cover and are -1 to hit as well but spells obviously ignore that
Exactly!! And because the boat is a unit - it’s also locked into combat so can’t shoot it’s guns via Unleash Hell. (It has a special rule called The Final Word)
One question. Where did you get Mir Kainan from? As he is not in the current battletome and I cant find him on GW to buy. Thanks for helping :) and great video!
Thanks matey, was really good fun to play too and it FELT tense because of the narrative element of both teams having the single goal and jostling for advantage and position
Hi Pete, it’s a Legion of the First Prince Battle Trait which says before you allocate a wound or mortal wound to Be’Lakor you can roll a dice. On a 4+ you can allocate it to a unit of Bloodletters/Plaguebearers/Horrors/Daemonettes within 9”
I’m not sure how it works 100% as I don’t have the rules infront of me. Andy made his General a Wizard so took the command trait dodgy character instead. Is EofO restricted to say a squig mangler general?
Enjoyed watching your ptg, would be cool to start another one on Thondia. Been playing my own and while I had covid been playing against myself (nurgle vs khorne) both the new ptg rules for them are pretty exciting. Khorne doesn't stand a chance against nurgle summoning and disease at low point games so far
Yeah the new PtG rules are pretty sweet. It’s a shame we didn’t finish but year we could start another one at some point. Khornes PtG is a bit lacking because it doesn’t have a new book and it’s summoning is only any good at around 2000pts, 1500 at a push
The strike first ca is pretty good. They and berserkers hold the fyreslayers up though shooty armies still murder them. You need to attack with 2nd grade assaulters first. If ca used then the once per game is used. If not you dent unit. And get rid of characters. But gloomspite are atm not in good spot and fs is particularly bad matchup...
Missed that, such a good battalion. I'm not a big duardin fan of any type but fyreslayers need the update of a battletome so hopefully we'll see them on the tables again.
@@logcabingaming3710 not that I love that the Orruks are really 3 separate factions in one book (Bonesplittas, Ironjawz, Kruelboyz and then Big Waagh), but would be interesting if they went the same way for Gloomspite (Nightgobbs inc Squigs, Spidefang, Troggoths).
Dispelling spell portal on your turn isn't that useful. You want to dispel it on his turn so it can't be recast. Then again kairos screwed up not dispelling it after using to deny this
True, I was playing on the fact that it would cost me one of my unbinds on his turn if I dispelled it that turn - and also, if he wanted to cast it, it would waste a cast trying to get it back on. Swings and roundabouts but yeah, good point and def one to consider
@@logcabingaming3710 Got to keep some distance between skarbrand and squishy stuff...though thanks to spawn placement rule and base sizes that's REALLY big no go area. And ruins 6" pile in aura bloodthirsters use. That spell is skarbrand's worst nightmare.
Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 great game and well fought with Blades of Khorne. You faced a classic LFP army, which is very hard to handle with Khorne. Especially the combination Boom-Thirster and Fourfoldblade-Epitome is pretty hard. Love to see more LFP on your channel. Liked and shared as always. Cheers 🍻
Awesome my man! Much appreciated. Yeah was a really good game and you’re right, I think LFP are in a better position that Khorne because of their reliable summoning and boardwide (ish) wards. We’ll def see some more LFP on the channel, whether it’s Matt playing them or myself (I have most of the bits but can borrow the more interesting stuff from Matt if he wants to play other armies). Thanks for your support and keep on watching 😁
Should have taken some mortal wounds with that summoning roll. “If the unmodified roll included a double, that HERO suffers 1 mortal wound. If the unmodified roll was a triple, that HERO suffers D3 mortal wounds instead.” Also looks like Karios isn’t within an inch of the spell portal to cast into it, but minor technicality.
Hah yeah, it wasn’t awful in that game. The nail in the coffin (or the rocket launcher in the china shop as it felt in this case) was his RAGE thirster exploding everything in one turn. After that it was an uphill battle and I’m sure he would have maintained his slim lead even if I hadn’t missed my T3 Battle Tactic AND won the roll off for turn 4. Still, it was glorious game and that’s all any of us can ask for
Glad to see you are back great battle report. Not sure if its been mentioned though you can no longer string your zombies or any models out like you did to steal the objective around the 43 minute mark. In the core rule book 14.2.1 (quote some abilities allow you to return slain models to a unit. Set up the models, one at a time, within 1" of a model from their unit that was not returned to the unit earlier in the phase.......). Great to see you are back keep up the good work
Ahhhhh nice catch matey!! We had a feeling it was a bit sneaky and unfair. We missed that core rule so thanks for pointing it out, should make the resurrections a bit nicer in the future 👍
Thanks for the warm welcome 😁. Sorry for the delay. We’ve all just been so busy lately with our respective jobs we’re finding it hard to get our games in let alone record them. Hopefully we’ll be able to get back to a bit more regular updates soon. Thanks for sticking with us 👊
