Theory: This came to Octavio in a dream he had before we face him in Splatoon 2 This is how it goes 0:00 We begin with Octavio slowly rising over Inkopolis Tower with Callie at his side, ready to perform for the Inkopolitan crowd that so warmly welcomed him to the surface. He gives the command for his soldiers to spawn in at the base of the tower and perform an Octarian megamix 1:41 In the crowd, Agent 3 and Agent 4 watch in shock that Octavio so easily captivated this many Inklings and quickly retreat before they were recognized. 4 suggests they split up, with 4 going to Cuttlefish Cabin to suit up and warn Marie. 2:21 Marie hijacks the show to Octavio’s surprise, and after a quick exchange with Callie, Octavio is forced to dance along once again to the Calamari Inkantation 3:04 Luckily Grizzco interrupts the dance attack with a surprise visit from Octavio’s lifelong trade partners, the Salmonids. They each do their part in carrying Octavio down to ground level so he can meet the Inkopolitans personally, something he never thought he'd do 4:35 Octavio gets to go through the Booyah Base and greet all the people he had only been told about for the last two years, including Sheldon who gives him a respecting salute. He crosses into the tower where he hears Callie’s voice waiting for him to return 5:46 Reaching the top again, he's joined by the equally accepting Squid Sisters standing at each side before the crowd. Shortly after, he's also reunited with two of his proudest soldiers. Octavio has gotten everything he ever wanted 6:21 Until he notices an extra shadow growing behind him. A shadow he knew all too well. Octavio bolts and jumps off the tower before Agent 4 could strike him from behind. Landing in his Octobot King, betrayed, he calls Marie out, and she joins him on her truck for aerial combat 6:48 Meanwhile, Agent 4 jumps off too, blasting a soldier on their way down and triggering an all-out battle between a new generation of furious Octolings and aggressive Inklings 9:51 As the battle rages on, the Octolings realize they're not at the same disadvantage they once were. Their spawn points were just as functional as the Inklings' spawn points. They start having more fun with the battle, some switching to the Inkling side and some Inklings even coming to theirs. The street battle turns into a celebration of unity 10:32 But Marie and Octavio are far from playing. Marie's been taking pot shots at Octavio while he was using his Mean Laser to shoot her down. Marie notices that the Octolings are respawning and tries to aim at the power lines. Octavio sees this and boards Marie's truck to stop her, but it was too late. 10:53 The power goes out across the city. The other idols shout out that it's no longer safe to battle and everyone promptly disarms each other. They all turn to the sky and watch the battle above 11:22 Octavio wouldn't let another Cuttlefish take everything from him again. He jumps off the truck and back into his mech, absorbing the Great Zapfish to outspeed and catch Marie. The battle was over 11:52 Then Octavio hears something else. Marie hears it too and smiles. Octavio looks up to see a green light plummeting towards him. It was Agent 3, fist outstretched and ready for a Splashdown. Unable to react fast enough, Octavio raises his scarred arm and... He wakes up. He's alive. At least, for now
I love how the transition from Dubble Bath to Lookin' Fresh at 4:35 implies that the player was looking through their gear and couldn't find anything good, so they started shopping for new drip
if i were to pack splatoon into a 12 minute mixtape this would be it. this really felt like a send-off to 2 the first time i heard it, which was right after finalfest.
@@tovi3280 idk if you can find it as raw audio, but im sure lots of lets players have it in their videos. try looking up splatoon 2 audio sfx. idk if that’ll help, but it’s a good place to start i think.
I have listened to this so many times before, and only now coming back to it On that note, two things One - the freaking foreshadowing with Splatattack, I swear-- Two - I get really giddy every time when the "Now or Never" part comes up. Just when all four idols yell out it's just, aaaagh. And the inklings and octolings coming in for a moment as well makes it even better
Oh man where do start with the foreshadowing. Firstly we wont be in inkopolis in splatoon 3 so this was probably Octavio leaving something for inkopolis to see. (Possible invasion of inkopolis from an unknown species?) Second in the story mode trailer "Return of the mammalians" we can see Octavio for a brief second towards the end of the trailer implying that he's coming back (hopefully not as the final boss) so this could have been foreshadowing his role is splatoon 3. Do with that what you will but I have a feeling that this mixtape might be enough proof that nintendo had already started some work on splatoon 3 long before it was reveled. This probably could have meant that splatoon 3 was meant to come out way sooner than 2022 but because of covid it had to be pushed back to a later date.
