I never played early access. I only found out about the game months after release. So this character, “Daisy” I believe you call them, was here in place of the Dream Guardian/The Emperor? Well, I guess I’ll give my two cents… Eh, I prefer the Emperor over Daisy. Daisy’s manipulation is so obviously evil watching these scenes. With the Dream Guardian I don’t remember their intentions being obvious right away. And unlike Daisy, DG’s manipulation felt more subtle. I’ve also seen comments from people wishing we had Daisy vs The Emperor vying for your trust. I’m confused as to how that idea would work. Daisy and the Emperor seem to have the same goal, even if for different reasons; have you become an illithid. The only difference (I think) is that I assume Daisy is 100% loyal to the Absolute while the Emperor isn’t. And if that is the case, it makes it so easy to side with the Emperor. Who would want to willingly give up their free will?
I keep coming back to this mix in particular, ever since you posted it last year. It's such a perfect blend of music and ambient. I've written almost 100k words just to this track on loop! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing it!
i prefer astarions old clothing better idk. the black with the sleeves and the lil ruffles at the next give off pompous vibes and that's definitely what I got from him the start of my first playthrough
Now that the game is fully released we know more about Raphael. House of Hope is his actual house he has on Avernus. You can go to it in the game. He keeps a cleric prisoner there names "Hope" which he thought it was cheeky to name his crib after her.
WOW thank you for posting! I didn't have time (or performant enough laptop) to properly play EA when it was out, so I was confused as to why it shifted to the Dream Guardian/Emp when I actually started to play after the patch. I think I actually prefer this version. So much drama with the dark urge!! Agreed with everyone about the potential of a Daisy vs Emp thing. It sucks they fully removed Daisy...since they created all the content for the Emp anyway, I don't think it would have been so difficult to mend their stories together? At least it wouldn't have taken much more resources to entertwine their stories? The Emp makes much more sense with Orpheus, but as the tadpole, Daisy makes more sense. And the Emp being in the prism could be blocking Daisy's influence. Idk, it looks super cool. Even knowing Daisy is evil, I would have loved to side with her. It is amazing for angst! And given the theories I've seen online about Tav/Durge falling asleep down down down by the river as per the song being a metaphore for relishing control to Daisy and becoming a mindflayer...I don't know, it's beautfifully sordid and ballsy if that's what they intended. I hope some genius modder can make something about it when the modding tools are fully released.

They totally screwed up Viconia's character. I really liked her in BG1, though I have a thing for paladins so could only have her in my group a short amount of time. I really hate what they did to her.
Hmm late to the party on this but minthara in act 2 once you save her and zevlor as well both say they were promised everything they wanted by the absolute sounds exactly like the promises daisy made you in EA
Daisy should have stayed with the possibility she truly loves you and you gain an eternal happiness with the cost of your body and the world, living forever in a blissful dream. With the Emporer being her contrast wanting to help you and save the world but only for his best interests and freedom always involving heartache and strife, the cost of life, the cost of being real. Orpheus being the end of the spectrum and desiring what he does already a existence without ilithids.
It truly bothered me that Viconia was in the game like this. Such a huge shoehorn by a WOTC rep makes me dislike them even more. Such a shame. And don't get me started on Sarevok.
Yeah Larian butchered these 2 iconic characters, especially cuz i always redeem Sarevok in ToB and make him good. At least Jaheira was well done i guess...
What they did to Sarevok honestly makes my blood boil when compared to my disappointment with Viconia. He had an actual redemption arc and his epilogue was so damn fitting for who he was as a person.
The 1 finger missing on the glove is for using a bow. I don't know why, how, or if I'm lying. kharlach is hot, and I'm scared for my sanity when I see her, mm mm mm muscle mommy.
Astarion looking fantastic all the way, and dang Gale rocked that first look on the left at the beginning, he should have stayed like that, he looked even more rogguish than Astarion, like a cool pirate gentleman or something, why did they let him keep a lame 5 o clock beard instead is beyond me. Lae'Zel and Shadowheart also were great, but Shart's and Wyll's clothes from the early access were better looking, but I can imagine they changed it so we wouldn't cry about them once we would get better armor in the game, and looking better in it too.
One thing of note - if you take Karlach with you into the House of Hope, she notes that her demon engine heart isnt burning up while there, which indicates that the House of Hope is in the hells.
