If Oklahoma only had a QB and an offense Gary Nord not getting Chris Redmon QB who backed out to Louisville was a setback then using Brandon Daniels as a wishbone QB was a mistake. Garrick McGee injury prone to using Justin Fuente and Eric Moore wasn't the answer and even Jarrod Reese from Seminole but Jake Sills would show some promise but he would transfer after 1998 so much was going on as Donnie Duncan was taking more of the money than putting into the university. Gary Gibbs from 1989-94 has his share of okay seasons but his best QB was Cale Gundy as a lot of top recruits avoided Oklahoma because of Charles Thompson incident and Switzer resigning. Gary couldn't win the Texas game to Nebraska and Colorado then surprising rise of KSU in the Big 8 in the latter part of 1993. .John Blake didn't let Dick Winder run his offense plus the strength and conditioning wasn't up to par to compete for Big XII the Defense was stout but not enough between 95-98 the team wouldn't have had such a slump so many coaches coming and going no continuity or consistency. Bob Stoops with Joe Castiglione then Jerry Schmidt strength and conditioning to Mike Leach QB/OC coach Mark Mangino as OL coach and Mike Stoops and Brent Venables as Co Defensive coordinators among others devoted their efforts to build a winner.
The Boz should have gotten an oscar for his role in "Stone Cold" the movie is bad ass idc what anyone says plus lance Hendrickson and William Forsythe were fucking harsh. Underrated af
Jamelle has spent time in jail, unfortunately, but he's turned his life around, and is still one of the most exciting running QBs of all time. I wish him well.
Holieway played professionally for the National Football League's Los Angeles Raiders (1989-1990) and the Canadian Football League's BC Lions (1991-1992). In High School, and in both pro leagues, Jamelle played on the Left Coast.
Played QB opposite of this guy in high school...I was a pure passer, and Eric was one of the best natural runners I'd ever seen. Pine Bluff had one of the best high school teams in the country as well. I don't know what happened at OK, but I feel like he was definitely the better athlete of the 3 that were at QB during his time there...just maybe not as well rounded as the others, but definitely as talented or more. It was pretty obvious as Switzer switched him to RB just to make sure he got touches in games.
Where are his NFL highlights? Oh yeah, the only one that matters is him getting run over by Bo Jackson. Bosworth was the definition of over-rated. Note there isn't a single name you recognize from the NFL among the players he made plays against in this video
Just a really awesome play is that second one where the blocker knocks Boz off his feet and yet Boz jumps back on his feet with lightning quickness to make the tackle.
Billy Sims and David Overstreet in the same backfield? wow. wait, there’s more…apparently Elvis Peacock and Kenny King were also on this roster? was there anyone on this OU roster who didn’t make it in the NFL?
I watched this footage and have seen the Oklahoma and Oklahoma State greats and to be blessed to be related to one is phenomenal. #28 Oklahoma great Rotnei Anderson.
