Peanuts. Roasted. I’ve thought of doing dried bananas and apples. Of course I don’t want to feed them and spend all my money doing it. Any suggestions for inexpensive ways to feed them?
The squirrel that comes around and lives around my house every day loves hazelnuts the best. If I leave too much snacks out and a variety of nuts/ fruits: There is never a hazelnut left over. Also those were the first ones he or she would eat from my hand
I feed squirrels in my garden because i love watching them munch. I watch them from windows, click their photos, I adore them. Sometimes when its all quite I can even hear their munching sound. I love their cute little jumps, how they rush from one tree to another. I also observed that they lay on their stomach entirely in contact with wet soil or brick to cool themselves in summer. Thanks for the video. Now my squirrels are gonna enjoys fruits and vegetables too! 💟🐿
Thanks for the info. I am lucky enough to have 2 white/piebald squirrels living in my yard. Mother and son. White Lightning and Sigil. I have lots of videos on my channel.
Don’t do the pergola patio roof. Back in the 80s it was called the California slatted patio roof. I had one I had total regrets. Make your roof, solid and waterproof. You can use it year around. Since I tore down my old pergola or slatted patio roof and put up a solid one. If need be, I can barbecue in the rain and sit by my fire pit when it’s raining. Never could do that with a slatted roof.
I knew you'd say peanuts... because we all feed them peanuts. I've never seen any problems in many years feeding roasted peanuts in their shells to squirrels.
I have a problem with keeping water in a bottle. Water was meant to be free flowing and not caged in a bottle. Water should be free roaming around the earth and not kept in a bottled caged up on a warehouse.
The run itself is about 6feet long and only about 3 feet high. Which is difficult to feed and clean. That's why I also added the walk in area which is about 6feet high and about 6 feet wide as well.
I got the cube and 12 ft extension run, but now I realise, like you said, that crawling into it for me is not so easy. So I'm going to get the walk-in run. Just have to figure out which size to get. 😊
there are some owls around here and i thought maybe if i fed the squirrels and they began to have more squirrel pups maybe the owls would get more to eat too and we would have more owls :D
