thanks for the learning video, can you please give me the actual size of front and rear tires cause i bought a 1978 honda express with only rimes on it and no tires thank you.......
Treatland have a better looking version......problem with the one you are portraying is that the expandable rubber does not last. It increases in diameter and you can't get it in again. Cheers. Regards .Andrew .
*I'd want the '2-speed Auto' model and a 'cross-bar strut' for strength* _______________ ( *What's the 'Drama' in the re-start...the 'hesitation?'* *Is that 'Edging' or what?* ) *In fact, I'd just go w/a later model 'Passport' because I want the electric starter from being lazy and convert the electrics to 12-volt which is much more reliable and ease of parts replacements* ______________ *My '08 'Metropolitan' in gloss black/grey is the most reliable machine I've ever owned in 68-yrs. and it 'goes with the house' when I croak* *A few minor performance mods and a 14-inch windscreen gives it 42-mph on level roads w/a stock engine and exhaust...even with my 230lbs of fat ass on it!*
I think I pegged mine once and that was when I was almost out of gas, every time. Must like a little leaner mix. I see you capped the oil tank and premixed.
I find that a workbench is always easier to use than the ground and a foot. And put a long 1/2" bolt in the benchtop to act as stabilizing post - put the wheel over it and it will keep the wheel from sliding around.
@@EverydayInternetSol I’ve since sold the bike but I have another Honda express, I’d like to know if I need special tools to take the engine apart. I found a head gasket leak and I’m going to redo the entire engine as far as seals and gaskets. Thanks for the advice in advance and ride safe, and hope you have a new video out soon it’s been a while since your last one.
Thank you very much I just bought two bikes and one was bypassed and I want to change it back to original so I hope the pump is fixable and I will now know to grease it. Iwill also use the synthetic oil.
Very informative. You bike needs an inline fuel filter with a magnet in it . My bike's cards used to get dirty like yours in no time . Till i replaced fuel line and added inline fuel filter with magnet . Please also do so and make a video about it also . Will help your engine run longer with a fuel filter .
I got an orange Express in 1979. In Iowa you could get a "moped' license at 14 haha, bad decision State of Iowa! I rode it off road, in the snow, you name it. Damn thing would run forever. A neighbor used to remove the governor and put on a custom exhaust pipe for us kids. I think mine could hit 40 downhill haha.
good morning sir, id like to know what kind of carburetor model that is i like the fact that the choke is in the right place and what kit you're using. thanks for posting stay well.
Hey there so I just purchased the same carb and intake and have also installed them but in terms of removing the oil pump and plugging it....what do I do about the throttle. My throttle connects directly to the top of my oil pump but wouldn’t know where to connect it. Or do I not need the secondary throttle cable to the oil pump since I just need to connect to the carb (since it’s pre mix)? Your help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks man!
You can buy a single cable throttle cable, no more need for the dual cable. I recently had to go to a single cable and now pre mix due to my dual cable breaking, therefore rendering my oil pump useless, but I just left the pump and capped off my hoses coming form oil pump.
Hey there! Looked through your profile and videos and comment sections to try and find some parts links for your express but couldn’t find anything. Any chance you could supply a list of parts you used for this moped? Having a lot of carb problems with my express...fuel and air delivery. Thanks for your help! I’m subscribed!!
Lucky Mullarkey you can find my parts on hondaexpressmoped dot com website. Post entitled “The steps for NC50 Honda Express 1978 moped performance tuning”
That one piece that you mention not to take out, I was air blowing the ports and it just flew out. Cleaned everything up and reassembled the pump. Not sure if suppose to do that, but at least it's freed up and was not difficult to install back.
I've just picked up a 1985 2speed one of these also seems to make that same tapping/rattle sound, is it likely to be an issue? I'm not too concerned at this point because it starts first kick every time, and by looking at this video they are capable of exceeding 30mph
I know this is a long shot, but I have an 82 express that's blowing white smoke and only runs when choke is fully open. After a few seconds of riding it will stop smoking, but then will start once it sits idling for a little while.
And I mean CLOUDS of white smoke. Not a small amount. It also bogs down when initially accelerating, but runs normal after about 3-5 seconds of open throttle
