Have you been stuck in a style rut? Not sure if the current beauty trends will work for you? Join me here as I rediscover my passion for beauty and fashion.
I have always loved beauty and fashion, I got my education in Fashion Marketing. However over the years, I heard from people this was not important. Once I started having panic attacks, recovering from a divorce I noticed my passion for life in general was not there. Putting on makeup and putting outfits together, I noticed my excitment started to increase again.
Have you experienced something like this too? Maybe your kids are now grown so it is time to put you first again, a job change, relationship change? Not sure what primer to use, best way to apply foundation now? When I first started wearing makeup we didn't have primer, only used our fingers to apply foundation!
Have others made you feel like beauty and fashion are not important? Here on Staci Lea Beauty we love all things beauty!
You've had some good pointers. I've always been told that if you want to know if a color is good for you hold it up to your skin. If it washes you or makes your skin look uneven in anyway, then it's not a good color for you. A good color will even out your skin tone. I have followed that rule for years.
Thanks! I agree about the colors. Years ago my mom had her colors done and they provided her a little swatch book to have with her. I don't know anyone in my town that does that now. I am going to try to get some color swatches together to talk about that in a future video.
I love this video. I am going to play it the next time I do my make up! I love the eyeliner tip for the top lid. I used to line my top lid, but lately it seems too blotchy and not attractive. I will be trying these techniques.
I can see a difference on the "new" side for sure and tbh I do my eyeshadow that way and my eyeliner too, I don't go to the actual corner of my eye, I lift it away from that or my shape would face more downwards, I'm going to try doing my brows this new way and see if I can see a difference on myself
I thought I posted this yesterday, but it is not here. I wanted to share my love of fashion and beauty. I was about 11 or so when I bought both Mademoiselle and Glamour magazines at a gift shop on an outing with my parents. I fell in love with beauty and fashion magazines. I can't explain the way I felt pouring through the pages. I was just hooked. As I grew up, I would buy more when I could, and then as an adult I would go out and buy the latest issues when they hit the stand. I never subscribed because there was just something about going and getting new issues. I loved them all, but Glamour was my favorite. I loved the women in college and women of the year issues as well as the regular monthly issues. I majored in writing because my dream was to write about women's issues for women's magazines. I never did do that, but I did get to write a few stories for my local newspapers' women's magazine insert for a few years. I have mentioned this to you on other platforms, but your videos have rekindled my love for these topics and I get a little hit of dopamine when I see that you have a new video out. I have also learned about beauty companies that I never knew existed through you!! 🙂
I loved looking a magazines too! It just isnt the same to look at them online. I let all my subscriptions expire years ago but I was thinking maybe signing up for one again if they still offer mailed magazines. I remember standing at Walgreens looking at all the magazines trying to decide which one to get when I was in high school. That is awesome you got some stories featured! I am so happy to find another fashion /beauty lover!!
I was fashionable until my mid 20s. I had 3 pregnancies in 2 years and I gained a lot of weight (never lost a lbs) and went for comfy over everything Now my kids are teens and I want to get some style back but I'm struggling because I want comfort. And I work with special needs teens so I need practical
I have recently been wondering about wedding dress shops. I know that in Bourbonnais there is a new store on Brown Blvd, and it got me thinking about how I don't see bridal shops like I used to. I remember three that we had in this area when I was in high school. Maybe looking into what happened to local bridal shops or checking out the new one in town might be an idea to investigate. Is it the Internet, bridal shops closer to cities???
That is a good idea. I just noticed that one on Brown Blvd the other day, not sure when that opened. I love looking at the dresses, they are so pretty.
our Faux Fall passed and we are in the high 90s but it cooling off at night now, which is nicer than when it only goes down to 80s at night lol next week we go back down to low 90s but typically we don't actually cool off until Halloween
OMG!!! did that too! I have not met anyone else that would do that lol I would write down every single bit of the outfit including how I wore my hair with it and down to the last detail so I would not repeat it again the whole year in the same way LOL I was so obsessed w fashion when I was younger lol I still am but in a muuuch more relaxed manner haha
Give it to the Lord, your never to old to change your direction. Being older, I’m seeing more in that direction. Take the leap of faith. Go to work part time at a boutique to see how much you can fit in. I know this, Would be more for the dream than the money. In my area they go to shows in Dallas. In the South, only have summer and winter….lol
Please send me info on wig you were wearing. Have a friend fighting cancer, losing her hair. I think this would look so cute on her. I know you find deals Thanks in advance.
@@StaciLeaBeauty yes, thanks that’s the one. Love you being on page you sent. I’m going to send to her. Follow your dream, don’t let anyone get in your way. You light up when you do any of your videos, my only remarks is some times you very long winded, most of us want looks/reviews in a quick timeline. Don’t want to hurt your feelings, want to help you grow. I see that’s a remark on several sites I watch, to the point they put time stamps to get to parts of interest. Bless you and thanks
I love how that wig looks on you! That length of hair is perfect for your face shape! I love the Pacifica blush duos just for the mirror! I picked the Lunar Beuaty highlighter palette. Later in the month I will do a try on so you can see the swatches and how it performs to figure out if you want to use it for yourself.
such a cute hairstyle! tbh I have been thinking about getting boxy and ipsty again, but also I don't need to huge influx of stuff again but also I love the bags and it's so fun to get a special Natasha Denona palette every so often too!! lol
Love this video!! Yes to both of your questions about future videos. My birthstone is an opal, and it isn't pink in nature. It has a pink hue to it, but whenever October is featured as a color, the color is pink. I do love pink! As for the slides you share in this video, I love looking at the runway fashions, but there is rarely a practical outfit in the line up!! So I really appreciate the way you do "Shop the Trend," so your viewers can look for something similar to the runway fashions in an everyday, toned down look! I personally want the blue purse and shoes, the yellow wrap dress, the floral Converse, the mini pink dress with the black bow. I like the pink and black combination anytime, and - s a matter of fact a coworker once called me a Good and Plenty. I want the bright pink pure, the black floral skirt with the slit, and the list goes on and on...
That is interesting that pink is featured for October. Yes the designers need to be a little over the top. I am glad you enjoy these videos. I had so much fun makeing them. When I was in high school I took fashion classes at the career center and we used to watch the shows and have to write down what were the comment themes we were seeing. I thought it was so interesting Converse had a floral pattern. I like those too. That is funny about Good and Plenty! Yes pink and black is a color combo I love. I have been in the process of getting my office set up since I moved it but want it to be black and pink.
I grew up using setting powder and it has just been part of my routine forever. I have never tried a setting spray. But I did really start to notice the lines/creases in my forehead and mouth area and wonder if it is the setting powder. But, because I have been using this particular item my entire life, I feel like just liquid foundation looks unfinished. I may have to try a setting spray to see what I think. Thanks for the video!!
Hi Staci, Thank you for the email. Urban Decay setting spray is amazing for an “all day/night” event. Setting the eyes, WOW. I have aging skin though and I usually opt for setting powder. I’ve tried Bare Minerals and Tatcha setting powder. My favorite? Tatcha. Yes, $$$ yet the loose setting power compact/jar lasts me for a good 6 months. After watching your video, I would like to try the Huda Beauty Easy Bake and Snatch. I shake a little out in the lid and actually apply lightly with an oversized brush. Well, exactly how you demonstrated. 😉 Do I like bananas? Not as a setting power. In my opinion, too yellow. Perhaps complexion has something to do with the way it sets on one’s skin? I love bananas in my cereal, protein shakes and you are 100% correct. Banana Bread.
Hello. I am glad the email worked! That was my first time setting up an email to go out except for the welcome email when you first signed up. I have never tried Tatcha setting powder might have to put that on my wish list. Yes bananas in cereal is so good!
I never use powder. I have dry skin and powder emphasizes my lines and makes me look older. I use a setting spray when I remember to do so. I love bananas but they have to be on the green side otherwise they are too sweet for me. 🍌
