I remember this well..glad nothing worse happened after the nosewheel collapsed but it ruined the rest of the day as the runway was blocked for some time..I eventually got bored and left.
The hovercraft still lives on albeit only as a passenger operation with Hovertravel to have worked there for the past 4 years it will always stay with me, I love working there
I was driving in New Mexico, I believe it was, a few years ago and all the sudden I heard a loud jet noise and looked out my passenger window and a B1 was taking off and flew over the car. Very cool.
PCMasterRace Yeah they have a flight path through New Mexico. I dont know where exactly, but i know they ysed to fly over the Jemez mountains north of Bernallilo occasionally breaking the sound barrier.
While driving, I once saw a B1 taking off from Daytona Beach Airport, flew a few hundred feet above me, full afterburner. It was by far, the loudest plane I ever heard! Even with the windows up the noise was bone rattling! Beautiful aircraft, I'd love to see this bird fly low and supersonic!
I was there for this and what a foul and shitty day for weather it was....freezing cold and frequent ice cold downpours, piss wet through all bloody weekend, however as you can see fast jets do look good in those conditions.
That's not it breaking the sound barrier, thats a vapour cone, the air itself moving over the plane will be moving at supersonic speed, but the plane itself doesn't have to be.
Was at this show, and got chatting to the KANG CCs, they said to watch the display, as the pilot was a good stick and would push the limits, on the high speed pass, he must have set off a hundred car alarms !
that plane WAS breekin sound barrier without a doubt. I learnt bout them in 9th grade rite bafor i gradueted. you are all stupids. halve ya'll kant evin spell rite?
