Thank you ! The clearest video and explanation on youtube. I always had issues trying to switch from enet connection for a F10 series and kdcan for an E60 series. Now works perfectly . Life saviour. Thx again.
Thank you so much for this well explained video. It addressed all the areas where I needed to change the settings for my laptop and ISTA+ to connect to my E93.

Just Google search BMW MOST loop and you'll see them pop up. Unless you're on about the android system we installed for our customer which is from a company called andream.
Sorry should of made it abit clearer the loop connector. Found them. My problem is sound cutting off also when I'm in the android mode my idrive controller works but when back in normal bmw mode there's no movement on screen but I no it works though do you think this fix could resolve this?
@@1hairyhaggis hi Gary, yes it's very likely that one of the other modules linked to the idrive system is causing it to freeze and sound cut off. If Bluetooth is fitted to the car as standard I have found that 99 percent of the time it is that module (as per the video) that causes the issue. If you dint have Bluetooth fitted as standard then it could be another model on the network.
@@ultimatedrivingmachine4004 thanks for getting bk to me so quick. I pretty sure it came with it standard 🤔 I will buy n try the loop and see how I go from there.
Hi great video and very informative, I purchased a ista kit a year ago (Dcan cable plus software and it worked fine. I came to use it recently and won't read my vin and comes up with the pad active message, I've followed all the checks on your video and it all checks out fine but still comes up with the message. Do you have any ideas as I'm toying with the idea of uninstalling and reinstalling it.
@@ultimatedrivingmachine4004 Hi thanks for the offer of help with the issue I have or should I say had as I managed to find the problem, I went into the rheingold folder and edibias and found that it was set to remote even though the obd said obd std. it's all good now 👍
Thanks! The game changer for me was manually reseting ISTA configuration in the last step before you opened the ISTA program. Got rid of that annoying Pad Active Fault. Cheers!
i dont have an edibas folder outside of the ista folder, and ive tried changing com ports, i changed the INI file, i changed my cables switch and it still gives me the same error.
Hello. I have installed a similar android device and the audio is missing the low frequencies (no bass). Audio is going through AUX (coded with ncs expert). Radio quality is fine with low frequencies etc. The system is a M-ASK without navigation, 6 speakers (no amp in the boot). Last thing I will try is to add a preamp before AUX input with bass\treble control. Other than that I can think only to open up the M-ASK unit and try soldier wires to radio or CD points.
I think I actually fixed my problem. So I go to work in the early morning when its cold and I live in Southern California so it’s not freezing but still cold, when I am on my way home it is warm outside and that is when it cuts out so that’s why I thought it was a overheating issue. When this problem first arose i took it to my BMW shop and he isn’t the best with radio problems but he said he would try to fix it, so he put the looped plug in the TCU as shown in the video. Then a couple weeks after that the problem came back and at that time I noticed it was cutting out every time I hit a bump in the road. So I took it back to him and he was playing with wires on the back of the radio and figured out that it was a loose port on the radio, so I got a used radio off of ebay because a new one would be $1000+ and I didn’t have the budget for it. So a few weeks after that the problem arose again but this time it was when it was a little warm outside, so I did some research and some people were saying the amplifier could be the issue. So I ordered a new OEM amplifier of of FCP Euro and it just came in a couple days ago. So I plugged in it and everything was working until yesterday, same problem it only cut out during the day. I was a little upset, So I searched on RU-vid and found this video and it got me thinking that I should try to plug the TCU back in and it works. Sorry for the essay but I thought I would give you the rundown on the whole story about this situation. Thanks
@Rousr I have a similar issue. I had to take out my glove box on my E60 to replace my blower motor and resistor. During reassembly, I noticed my MOST port in the glove box compartment had the output cable (red light) hanging out of the harness. I reharnessed it and placed it back within its mount, and closed the little compartment. I got static, skips, and even the dreaded SOS error and aux input muting. So I took it out, and tried again. It worked ok until I started driving. So I took it out of the compartment completely, and let the wire hang. It's been sounding good until I replace the cable with one on EBay. At least it's in a place that's readily available. I believe I somehow damaged the glass or got it dirty so the information being sent through the light is faulty. I'm expecting a new head unit in the mail anyway, so I'll swap the cables out during the install.
Man I'm going bonkers trying to get the ista set up and can't get it at least not without paying who knows what could you hook it up I'd be forever grateful thanks ahead of time. Respectfully Brandon L Roylance PS. Your accent is awesome I wasn't paying attention at first. Eating but when I got past the chips you sounded like someone who did a voice over on the how to train your dragon movies. I know this because I've got a young one who watched it all the time anyway enjoy the rest of your day .
Thanks for the info, my issue was in the OBD.ini it was set to COM3 but most other videos just say to set your com port to COM1 which I did - all working now thanks ;-)
Uaually if the MAK or the CCC unit is faulty, it wont boot at all. Usually it shows the BMW logo and never gets past it. In which case the MASK unit is faulty. A break in the MOST bus from another module usually allows it to boot up fully for about 30 seconds before rebooting. Hope this helps
Hi Sir thank you for your response. Really appreciate that! I would like you to advice more on my car unit problems which I can not identify clearly: 1- My car sound is some time is smooth but sometime it is flashing and cut off. 2- The Mask Unit (In my case, CD Changer (e60)), it can run for a while and still keep rebooting more often. Can you advice whether the problems are from Fiber Optics or Mask Unit?
@@automartkm If it is running for a while and then cutting off.... it is liekely to be one tof the componants on the MOST network. You can test for this by unplugging them one by one until full functionality returns... For example. try unplugging the CD changer, if it still has the same problem, plug the CD changer back in and move onto another compopnant, for example, the MULF (bluetooth) module. Worst case scenario is that the CCC/MASK unit is possibly overheating.
Hello, Dan Very useful video, thanks a lot, But there is a problem with ISTA P, It doesn't read the EDIABAS folder located in EC-APPS The folder must be direct in the C drive. Any solution??
