I love your detailed deep dives about Vision Pro. It’s great to see what’s possible with the control center. I would really appreciate a detailed video about using a mouse for productive work with Apple Vision Pro, especially in conjunction with eye tracking for working on text. If you could cover that in a future video, it would be very appreciated.
Thank you so much for your feedback! I just released a new video on Spotlight/Siri search in visionOS, and was going to incorporate these suggestions. The problem that I ran into was that it was very messy. The interface kept auto-selecting voice input, and then trying to force use of the on-screen keyboard instead of my physical setup. This might be cleaner with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse than it is using a MacBook keyboard & trackpad. I will certainly attempt in a future video to a give direct overview of these concepts. For me, eye tracking, mouse, and keyboard have worked seamlessly together. It's the operating system's insistence to use Siri and the On-screen keyboard that are interfering with my operations.
Intentions were not for this to be clickbait or for identifying “new” features. They were to show how to use the feature(s) on MacOS. There have been a couple comments in line with this. I will take this information and try to give a more accurate title and description. Thank you for your feedback; it helps me get better.
@@techknowteacher It's bc you highlight MacOS 15, since new, most ppl will assume they will see new content/features. Instead, remove MacOS 15, as that is not relevant to the information and goal, potentially rename, how to use the Dock in MacOS for beginners. this presumes a completely different content then how to use dock in macos 15
Man Can You Open 2 apps and one of them completely overlays the other like how it was in ios16 and before ios17 removed the feature like opening youtube and a game and put it in full screen while youtube is running the video underneath the game
@@thebestwooo2079 Yes-ish. You can layer windows, and the bottom app won’t sleep unless the top window goes full screen. You can only have one audio stream, though. Without being able to overlay audio, a game in front of RU-vid doesn’t work well.
Thank you for thjs what my understanding is i am new on ios so is thst option mean u can play music on background and others also can hear or is that ootion means u can play music always on bsckground.. also if you know any option like i am looking is when u play music and games so other also can hear. Like stereo mix type ootion. Thank you im advance 😂
I don't know. I could see this going either way. I did go ahead and test to confirm it doesn't work with Spotify. Apples says that it works by feeding the audio stream into the haptic engine. So, in theory, any music-generating application could work. On the flip side, Apple doesn't really like helping competitors compete with themselves. I could see apple blocking the feature and keeping it proprietary to their own services. That said, Apple calls it an "Accessibility Feature". I'm of the opinion that if all accessibility features should be universal regardless of the manufacturer of the app you're using.
@@lbanda8612 I get that. The benefit for me is when I’m using AirPods. I wish Apple Watch had this capability. Phone in pocket, watch, and AirPods for an “immersive” music experience… maybe.
Seems like it's a beta app that is not yet publicly available in standard MacOS updates. Nice overview, do you know if Apple is making this completley free?
Looks good, but coming from 1Password I’m missing the ability to store an application license file. Rare, but some applications use that. Also some applications need both a login and a license key. It seems like this is very limited in the number of fields you can add. I guess you could use the notes part, but that could become messy. Another thing I may miss is the shortcuts to quickly copy either the username or the password from an account. Shift + CMD + Space brings up the account search in 1Password. While an account is highlighted I can do CMD + C to copy the username, or CMD + Shift + C to copy the password. Useful if the browser extension doesn’t work, or I need the password in a dedicated app that doesn’t have password manager integration.
Thank you very much for your video. As as see, there is no option to save/backup all passwords in an non proprietary format, right? (perhaps not implemented yet since this is a beta). Is an export of all passwords via AirDrop possible and how the data is available on the target system (propriertary or non-proprietary format, direct import in passwords)? iCloud is a nice thing but if your account is compromised or locked by Apple (for any reason) you have no more access to your passwords.
Thank you for your feedback. The mobile apps don't include the full functionality of the system. The MacOS application allows you to export all passwords to a CSV file. That CSV file could be AirDropped. It also allows import of a CSV file that came from other password management applications. Your iCloud observation is not completely accurate. All of your passwords are synchronized to your computer. So, if iCloud is locked, you still have access on your computer, iPhone, or other device. In theory, if your iCloud account were locked, you could still log into your Mac and export your passwords to CSV. Thank you so much for your feedback on this!
@@techknowteacher Hello Joshua. You are right. A locked iCloud account doesn't mean you can't access your device. So if I can export my passwords via macOS, that's a game changer. I think I'll try it out as soon as the new operating systems are officially released this fall.
It has become very situation specific for me. If I'm mobile with my MacBook, I don't really have the screen space and don't benefit from the multitasking enhancements. If I'm on my desktop with multiple monitors, it has significantly enhanced my productivity. Minimally Related: I just learned the other day that the latest iPad software allows for Stage Manager on iPad. This enables things like non-full-screen apps, overlapping windows, and the multitasking enhancements on an iPad. I don't know if I'm going to like it, but I certainly want to learn the extent of the capabilities before I decide that I don't.
I fully agree with 90% of my experiences with Stage Manager. That was until I used it in a multiple monitor scenario. With three displays, it's allowing me to be more productive than ever by not having to hunt for the application I'm going for.
I'll take "Sounds like Tim Cook" all day. On the Vision Pro, I absolutely love it. Just understand that Apple is a little misleading by calling it a "Spatial Computer". It's more of a "Spatial iPad". If your expectations are inline with it being an iPad, then I expect you to love it!
@@techknowteacher makes sense, but i prefer my laptop over the ipad. i never use my ipad because i need multi tasking, a file manager and swap space so apps don’t shut down in the background. i like the comparison to an ipad.
I sure do appreciate this feedback. It motivates me to find a solution. I’m not sure about stabilizing in recording. I try to be pretty hyper and excited during sessions, so I fidget quite a bit. I do wonder if “Travel Mode” does anything for stability. I also wonder if editing software can do anything to benefit here. Thank you, again, for calling this out.
24:46 (I ran this through Claude 3.5-sonnet before posting to fix grammatical issues and format lexical structure. The wording is completely my own). I watched the entire thing. I thought about clicking away within the first 40 seconds, but since you gave the impression of being technical, and also because I recently got a MacBook Pro (M3 Max), I was curious. I also noticed Apple's Notes system did get better, so I wanted to give some advice or feedback-because you know, "feedback" is a very politically correct term. I'd say find another way to censor your tags, as the red is unattractive. I'm reluctant to give feedback, advice, or comments because I don't make these videos, so I wouldn't know. I just watch. Somethings about your videos that I like, others may not. Taking this into consideration, I learned a lot about Notes. I probably won't use Notes because there are better alternatives like Notion. The reason I like Notion much better is because of Notion Calendar and the fact that there's a visual representation for dates and time. As you mentioned, there are icons, etc. For me, that visual representation is amazing. If Apple was able to connect Calendar somehow, then... that’d be cool. The smart divider thing is actually from DEVONthink 3. I mean the first time I found it was in DT3. I don't know if they copyrighted it or whatever, but the formatting seems so similar. These are things I learned that are cool, but I'm a student. I have one semester left in my Masters, and I can't really imagine myself using the video thing for notes. I can imagine myself using the voice recorder and the automatic transcriber-that's very cool. P.S. I comment like once a year on RU-vid but since you had a family and kids and it seemed like you wanted a side “hustle” I put a bit of effort into writing this comment (correct me if I’m wrong).
Thank you for the feedback. Apologies, if I've wasted your time. I agree that it's a bit repetitive with the same functionality built into different controls.
The gesture for bringing up the apps is mostly about your thumb and forefinger pinch. It would help if your other fingers don’t obscure the pinch. Maybe hold your other fingers away from your pinching gesture. Also, you need to look at the pinch gesture. This is to avoid false positives when in other experiences and you are pinching wo intending to bring up the menu.
Thank you for the feedback! It’s getting quite a bit simpler as I go… I assume because I’m getting closer on the gesture. I work work with your suggestions.
With the new outlook I cant send an email to junk. With the Legacy version it works fine but I cant find any option under new outlook. Can you help at all please
