You’ve got the beautiful tone of the supercharged engine very nice. Maintenance is worth it though as they are a lot of vehicle and technology with bags of comfort too.
What has a Volvo got to do with this. The XC90 doesn't even come close to the Range Rover. Here's a review of the XC90: "The 2022 Volvo XC90 has a predicted reliability rating of just 1/5. Consumer Reports says that they expect that the 2022 Volvo XC90 will be far less reliable than the average new SUV. To determine how reliable the 2022 Volvo will be, they have combed through data from the 2018, 2019, and 2020 models." So just a big pile of rubbish really first gen or otherwise...
The doors have double seals and I regularly clean the door seals and feed them with ‘Replenish’ to keep them as new. This was enough to stop any water coming in. The depth was also well within the factory recommended wading.
As a JLR mechanic of over 20 years i can categorically inform you that their electrics are not waterproof. This is the primary reason these things are top of all unreliability surveys. THEY ARE NOT A TOYOTA so please dont treat them like one.
