My grandfather sailed a.Newport 40 from Michigan to Miami when he retired sometime between 63 and 1970. It looked just like this one and was called Tomboy. He spent lots of time in the Bahamas, off Cat Island in particular. So much so the called him the mayor of Cat Island. His log was stolen and we lost.track.of the hull number and Tomboy's fate. If anyone knows anything about her, I would be super grateful for it. information
I know Yamato is the biggest. But just looking at Iowa is like seeing a floating Monster (Honestly, it's bigger than I imagined. especially when viewed from the side).
I'm glad that none of the Iowa class battle barges never came after me in anger,...YIKES! Would love to go to Norfolk to see my home state's BB-64 USS Wisconsin (WisKy), the largest of the Iowa class. USS Wisconsin had a collision with USS Eaton DDE-510, May 6th, 1956, and had the never-to-be-finished USS Kentucky's bow attached to her to fix the damage, making WisKy, about 18 inches larger than any other Iowa class BB.

I don't like that they have these things just sitting there like that. It's just disrespectful. They should be patrolling America's waters. The 600-ship Navy was a strategic plan that needs to come back. All of the Iowa-class battleships need to be recommissioned, refitted, and put back out there. The excuse was always we don't have the money. We send money to countries that hate us, and to folks who disrespect our laws all the time. They should be able to hate us for free, and folks should be able to apply to come here lawfully and not be given special treatment. So the excuse is finished. The math wiz's are the ruling class right now, and I better never hear their excuses anymore with the amount of spending they are doing. I mean, they even gave money to Harvard at one point in the pandemic. Harvard is basically a multi-billion dollar organization, WHY are they getting money from Congress? They are beyond rich. It's not exactly a small business struggling.
