This is a valid point although the bigger wheels do help roll more smoothly over rougher roads - also they are fun and that’s the whole point! What’s the largest wheel size you have tried?
trying to learn how to snowboard. I was told that the longboard is very similar and that I practice on it during the summer. what is your recommendation and opinion
Yes there are similarities with longboarding and snowboarding or surfing. The benefit is you can use it on land and travel places. The main difference is that you have to push - which is the main action of skateboarding. The stronger the push and endurance the more you can ride! There are different style longboards for pushing, carving, speed, etc.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 One Love. respect for a brother. As a downhill racer I love this discussion, because I also use the board as much as possible for travel, it makes me feel free beyond freedom itself.
Looks really nice! This post is 7 months old. Can you tell something about those 97mm wheels. Do you use this board for Carving? It would be espacially nice to know about the feeling of the carving! Would be nice to hear what you're saying!
Hey! There are other setups that are better for carving. This setup takes advantage of the oversized wheel without getting wheel bite. Better for commute or long distance pushing. For carving we would use a 180mm reverse kingpin longboard truck and a 70mm wheel.
I've used these wheels (the 97mm barefoot wheels) and personally I don't like them. I've ridden 85mm caguamas 77a, Abec 11 107mm 74a and Boa constrictor 100mm 76a. I feel the Caguamas roll better than the 97mm wheels even though they are 85mm. I have a strong feeling that the Boa 90mm hatling 76a wheels would be perfect for everyday riding and LDP. For now I hate to say it but the ABEC 11's roll for a very long time especially paired up with some venom gold abec 11 bearings. It rolls forever. The reason I hate them soo much is the durability is awful. Got big chips in the ABECS. Looking forward to getting some 90mm seismics or get the boa hatchlings.
@@NeronAzemi The caguamas roll better even though they're smaller because at a certain point you've got so much thickness of urethane that even at the same durometer rating they squish more, thus absorbing more rolling energy.
Thank you. Just bought my first longboard and decided to take it out. 1. I LOVE it way more than my very own e board! 2. It's low-key terrifying. But also feels safer at the same time lol. I definitely need more practice stopping. I'm having a hard time letting my foot just scrape on the ground as opposed to just full on stomping it down.
Guys, you have so far 40 (forty) mentions of "song" until my comment. WHO SINGS THAT SONG? Just say it! Obviously is a local Toronto artist but WHO? Thanks
I rewinded 0:13 about 4 times - the guy pulling out free magazines from the street metal boxes - now is 2021, exactly 10 years later - this is no more :( I loved pulling out a NOW each Thursday, finding the nearest Starbucks and sit and read in peace. This is no more :( And I miss skating the Toronto streets.
