Saw them in Nassau Coliseum opening for Queen...my big brother brought home 4 records that year.. Live and Dangerous, Powerage, Yesterday and Today, Strangers in the night....i was hooked
R.I.P. Johnny - thank you for the joy - my hat forever remains tipped. Always believe Johnny and The Stranglers' Hugh Cornwell could/should have got together for a concept album. I said it to him once after a gig, he laughed and simply said - "Wow - wish I thought of that one". STILL the best band ever.......
Oh Gary Gary quite contrary!!! I saw him live just once, at end of eighties in Milan San Siro football stadium less than half empty. In a beautiful early spring evening he played a short set before headliners Marlllion putting the stage on fire, so much so that I got away just after his gig without any wish to hear other music, with a broken heart and a twisted mind.❤😢
Thin Lizzy fut le groupe qui compta le plus grand nombre de guitaristes hors catégorie : Bell, Moore , Robertson , White ,Gorham , Sykes Qui dit mieux ?
Saw them open for Jon Bon Jovi and Ratt (headliner for Invasion... record). They were the best of the three that day. "7800" sucked and Ratt's sound was terrible. Even their great songs couldn't save them. MB's lit it up.🎉 Charlevoix, Michigan July 1985.
It was a shame. I had tickets to see UFO with special guest Nazareth and Thin Lizzy. Also on the ticket was Aldo Nova. Thin Lizzy almost had to cancel because Phil had a sore on his throat and he couldn't sing so they went on smyway and Sykes filled in on the vocals! Phil tried to sing a couple songs had problems. But at least I got the hearing talk.
