Why isn't this excellent genre defining album on Spotify? You can get obscure Japanese noise bands (MELT -BANANA, BOREDOMS, etc.) but not DISCHARGE, come on! Even METALLICA has covered their songs for Christ's sake!

I’m sure google is glad to interrupt this with Ads just so it can be ‘not on Spotify.’ Mostly I’m sure the kids discovering this today are no less lucky to be discovering this online than on vhs.
It's awesome to finally hear this album in its entirety after hearing their influence in many of my favourite metal bands (Darkthrone, Sacrilege, (early) Bolt Thrower, Celtic Frost, Sodom, Destruction etc). I can definitely see how this was ground breaking when it first came out. Just pissed off, raw, no fucks given music that had no pretension at all. Just anger and riffs for days with a really nice guitar sound that isn't too clean but not too obscure either, but just filthy enough. If I have the history right, a lot of punk in the early 80's was of that arty-farty 'post-punk' kind, which must have sounded like the Elvis in comparison to this. Any notion of high art or avante-gardeisms is completely rejected in favour or pummelling riffs and a pissed off attitude. Makes perfect sense to me why this is hailed as a cult classic by both hardcore punks and metalheads alike, influencing countless bands of both genre. Sick shit, wish I listened to this album a long time ago (I had previously heard the title track, but nothing else).

Minimalism is to Classical music as Smooth Jazz is to Artistic Jazz. Just a dumbing down of the elements to sell more records at the expense of music illiterates who never learned to play an instrument.
This is just a great album from start to finish...I was never a big fan, but this album is a great listen. Good stuff...definitely better than the Metal Album, quite an artistic statement.
