Ola’ Howard I believe in using what you have to save money every time the old roof tiles looks good to me I like it go with it just clean them up with a wire brush attachment for your drill that would be easier see you in your next video 👍✌️🤙❤️🇵🇹❤️
Evening Howard, just picked first box of Bramleys. Hope you are ready for the heat this week forecast for next 4 days is very hot touching 100. Too hot to work so watering will be all that will get done here.
I’m not sure if you own this property and how much work you’ve done on it but it would have been great if you had documented the renovation of this dwelling it probably would have brought in way more viewers and possibly subscribers, just my thoughts not trying to be smart, take care mate.
Thanks for the feedback - this was a paid job so I didn't film too much of it...the real renovation vids are on the little barn - but that is going slowly!!
An enjoyable glimpse of your Quinta life, many thanks. Can you do a piece on how the year old tree plantation is doing? I’d be very interested to see how they are progressing, whether good, bad or indifferent, and maybe later in the year when the vegetation has died down and you’re less busy!
Hi Howard, sorry to see your pride and joy in tatters. Unfortunately my truck also suffered the same fate last August on our land, in Odeceixe. I tried to evacuate in it but it broke down half way on the track. Long story short, she’s still there, not for want of trying. I am really struggling to dispose of it, how did you manage it? As I see it after many dead ends, my last two options are a 12” grinder and a generator, pair of gloves, goggles and a trailer. Number 2 is burying it with a JCB.
@@rickkin6386 sorry to hear that your's burned too! Thankful that you got out!! We actually got the local scrap merchant to come and collect it (there's a vid of it!) as otherwise I was faced with cutting it up myself... they paid around 600€ for the scrap AND did all the work so I would definitely suggest you ask around locally. Good luck & thanks for coming on the journey - your village looks beautiful!
Your video quality is very good. Thumbnails are eye-catching. But there is some problem with your channel. Update the video tags section and complete SEO. Only then your video views and subscriptions will increase. If you want I can tell you more about this and guide you in growing your channel.
Evening Howard, hope you 2 are enjoying the summer sun and don't get burnt. it says a bit cooler tomorrow. Picked my first Bamley's this week so should have plenty ready by month end if want some to go in store for winter, Crops doing well busy freezing everything for winter, peas done on french beans broccoli and sweetcorn just now o and not forgetting brambles.
@@robertlee6479 gosh! You're doing well! We have a few green toms, courgettes & that is about it! June was quite cold, especially the nights, so we are on the back foot. This glorious sun will help - we have had 30 degrees up here today.
@@howardsportugal You planted too late here is 6 weeks in front and I would think at least 4 weeks up there. Yes we had 90 today and 92 yesterday forecast is 78 tomorrow and some rain by Tuesday. Will believe it when I see it. have had my first toms this week
Looking good Howard. Don’t take this wrong, but the audio is extremely hard to understand. A few suggestions. Eliminate the background music Reduce the volume of the background music Try a better microphone. We’ve been following you for a while now. We live in northern Portugal close to Spain. Always interesting to see your progress. Stay cool and be safe working around the roof.
It is just something that isn't looked on well - roads here tend to be repaired using cut stone cubes & I guess that they don't want random rubble being used...
Yes, I have never seen a more wiggly roof! Much is now off & we're working to preserve the old decorative beams...starting to realise this is a big project! Cheers, Steve.
Hey, make sure that you can still buy tiles compatible with what you are pretending to reuse, many old companies have gone down and many models aren't available anymore, good luck
Thanks Howard for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys, good work 👍😁, the dak tiles are cemented in because they will fly away when there is a storm and you have to protect the walls against the rain or all the sand and clay will wash out maybe put plastic or tiles on top of the wall, just saying.
Should take them of in rows as well then you have something to walk on, yes I have done before , before you ask and I used The Knack first and nextdoor was a builder.
Evening Howard, you harvesting veggies yet. I expect too have bramley's in about 2 weeks idf I can get a net on and keep the dam fox's from eating them, Tomorrows job for me. If you have done a roof before ok, if not then you start at the gutter and lay the tiles on top as I did see someone once start at the top and they were in tears before it dawned on them what they had done.
@@howardsportugal Don't screem for it too much or we'll get too much of it. I have spuds, carrot, beetroot, peas all in the deep freeze, French beans just started, broccoli hearting and sweetcorn setting as well as Rasp just finished, brambles, nectarines, plumbs, cherries done, and apples i the offing only thing I buy is bananas. as too cold in winter as tried in Scotland and went rotten in the middle from cold and damp.
Hi & thanks for coming on the journey! This is the first "real time" video for a couple of weeks as I popped over to the UK to attend Shynefest... I made a little video that you can see on the @Shynefest YT channel...please do check them out! Hope you enjoy!
