This area has so much home building going on without yhe necessary infrastructure to hanlde the volume. All of SC lowcountry is overly populated in comparison to its ability to handle the volume of people. The traffic is terrible, there arent nearly enough doctors, dentists, quality schools, etc. They keep building houses without real achievable infrastructure plans.
So many new homes and apartments popping around that everyone who has lived here for 20+ years are pissed. They have knocked down so many forests for people escaping blue states.
Nobody would live Summerville if Mt. Pleasant didnt want two kindeys for half a house. The problem with Charleston is the SC wages but CA cost of living prices.
@@gc1087 Two Kidneys would actually be a deal for a home in Mt. Pleasant. Unfortunately, you’d need to start harvesting organs, create a farm and then you’d be able to afford Mt. Pleasant. :)
Welcome to South Carolina just keep your liberal views up in the Northeast and out in California cuz we don't want that s*** here down here we believe in God country and family
I moved here about 2 years ago and like the area better than California, at least the politics in general. I hate the massive taxes in California, but have found Dorchester County to be out of control. I swear I pay about the same in Taxes here as I did in California when all is said and done. It won't be long before I move out to another county that does not burden me so. I like the fact about the HOA, but really want a large solar system and a large shed work building that they just will not let me build here. No HOA in the next one, I promise you that.
I'm from and live in Houston. My girlfriend is from Beaufort. Every reason you gave to not come, is a reason we want to, especially #7! Hahaha! Awesome video!
Really a swamp? Don’t you mean “Tall Pines” farm? I swear the natives don’t even know the facts. Cane bay was all hunting farm land at one time. Now summers corner is built on a swamp.
Really good video, it makes a great point. There is so much more than just your house that you must consider. I learned this the hard way when I left a big city for smaller town. I was allured by the dramatic price drop to the small town but sometimes you get what you pay for. I will definitely be much choosier the next time we move as I am so unhappy in our new location. On one hand I got a brand new home for about $100k less than I could have dreamed in my old town but the energy is different, I am bored to tears and I have a very unrewarding job. It all ties into this area (I'm in central Florida from south Florida). Our next move may need to be out of state. Tnx for the video.
20+ years living in Summerville and I am done and ready to get out the traffic and congestion is out of control here, crimes are continously on the rise.
Generally speaking, Cane Bay or Summers Corner. Both neighborhoods offer affordable housing but also have completely different HOAs for amenities. So you really need to connect with someone like myself for a more precise approach!
Just moved from Nevada to Moncks Corner and I am so happy. Big lot, nice spacious home, close to a lake (Not Tahoe, but I'll take it), out of the hustle and bustle. Summerville traffic is INSANE but getting to Downtown Charleston isn't bad at all. Able to get to all the beaches in about 45 minutes to an hour. Lovng it so far!
We're getting 120° heat here in Vegas and humidity. Makes me question the future move to Summerville.....😂 Kidding, at least it's beautiful while being hot and muggy, while Vegas is like the Devil's hairdryer is on full heat and everything is dead or fake. 🤦♂️
I live in Cane Bay, my husband lived in Vegas, I lived in Phoenix. It's just different hot. I love the heat. It's not nearly warm enough here all the time for me. July is typical the worst, or in my opinion, the best of the heat. If we were to leave here and go back to Vegas, my ideal neighborhood would be in Henderson at the Tuscany.
I love all the neighborhoods and the incentives are amazing. However, I'm not looking to move for another 8 years or so. I hope they will still be building then. How do you deal with the humitity though
Agreed! I think that’s a great option. Even the Homewood suites/ Hilton garden inn has an extended stay option. Excellent for checking out an area first.
You saying you love absolutely everything is annoying as hell. Why do you say yhe room is a good size when all you fit in there is a bed and 2 nightstands???
Because what else are you planning on shoving inside that bedroom? Sorry it's "Annoying as hell". You don't have to watch if you find it annoying. To be honest your comments are annoying.
we moved from long Island NY to Summerville three years ago and absolutely love it. Small town feel, can still drive to the beach and 30 minutes away from downtown Charleston. My kids love it and assimilated into high school beautifully. They thrived. Love the simple slow relaxed lifestyle here and everyone is super friendly.
Waterpark passes are $90/person for a year? Are there any good amusement parks close by? I want to live in a super friendly neighborhood with a lot of community activities to get to know and make friends easily. Are most of the people genuine or just on the "outside" if you know what I mean?
Sounds similar to our situation. Love our house, but let’s be Mt Pleasant area. Reminds me of where we lived in San Diego. Lots of options for shop and dinning
I have regrated it for 10 years now didn't want to come in the first place after I retired wanted to stay in the Berkshires where I came from I went from a slow pace living in a town of 600 people to this mess in Summerville hate it so much
I live in CA the crazy gas price is 4:59 and that was cheap. No wonder I want to get out of here. How do you get used to the humidity? I live in the High desert so it's 110f right now, but not humid. I heard house mold is very common. Is that true? If so, how do you prevent it, and take care of it if you get it?
