Videos from Telluride Ski & Golf Resort. While the ski terrain is world-renowned, the resort is truly defined by a collection of unique, intimate and unmatched experiences. From Tempter House to Allred's and Alpino Vino, you'll find these experiences are as unique as the mountains that surround them. Telluride's location and size allows guests to experience a peaceful atmosphere, where lift lines are nearly non-existent and the people are authentic and friendly. The real gold was mined after the mines closed and it ruined the town now it's rich kids and land jockeys hanging around main street drinking ten dollar coffee drinks telling each other how wonderful they are.
Now (insert ski area name here) is just another sellout ski area, i.e. Vail, Sun Valley, St Moritz and those other world class ritzy snooty places where people buy fur coats and dilly dally in fancy restaurants, you go to the (insert local watering hole name here) and see a bunch of rich dweebs looking around at each other going “where is everybody? I thought this place was cool and funky…” cuz we’re all gone because they couldn’t fathom the idea of having a Rastamon at their fancy dinner parties Jah iration sing…unfortunately Rasta Stevie’s words were prophetic. I look forward to the demise of McSkiing
If you're going to spend millions of dollars on a new lift, why not run the connecting base area lift (#8) for the full day? You've cut the time in half for lift 9, yet force skiers & boarders to take the gondola after 1:30pm; effectively tacking on 10 minutes to what is otherwise now an 18-minute trip from the bottom of 8 to the top of 9 instead of paying 3 lift ops for 2 more hours per day.
When I was in high school in NYC in the late 80's, I worked at a photo lab called LabOne where my uncle George was a B&W printer. Himay's sister Ellie worked there too and she would tell me about her ski bum brother Himay, Teluride and the town mayor, Rasta Stevie. I always dreamt of making it Teluride. Bucket list. Beautiful family Himay, Well done, brother!
