I am so happy with yesterday's program. It was very educational and incredible to learn about how organizations are working to strengthen the bond between pets and their owners.It was really interesting. I had to watch it again and again because we need to learn and follow their example to be successful in our community

Great video. I just started out with a clinic. The only thing I would say is that it is absolutely 100% possible for a dog to get a scrotal haematoma if you do a scrotal approach, because I had a 54kg XL bully who I neutered and as soon as he woke up, he turned around and ripped the scrotal wrap off, and he swelled to the size of a grapefruit. It was so big that it acted like a tourniquet/skin closure because it put such pressure on the skin and subcut. It subsequently necrosed and he had to have an ablation. 😢
Agree - please dont allow a dog and their family suffer - when we know they really need medication - correctly chosen & titrated for the individual (and their loving family).
Seems to make more sense to let the maternal antibodies do their job and Titre them at 16 weeks and THEN if needed, vaccinate... OR... wait until 18 weeks and give initial DAPP and titre in 12 months. BUT I mean less money to be made this way...
my vet prescribed l-lysine gel supplement (viralys) they love the taste and their sneezing has decreased a lotttt. but the boy still has nasal and eye discharge which are dark red/black. and the girl is wheezing every single day now! she will get her x ray done in a few days. i have taken her to the vets so many times for sneezing but each time they dismissed it syaing shes healthy. and then the qheezing started and i even changed vets but new vets also dismissed it syaing shes healthy. and then i adopted the adult boy who was disgnosed with uri when taken to the vets and that vet said my girl kitten also prolly has the uri. although just a few days ago, another vet at the same hospital said she is fine. and both cats r on l- lysine and sneezing has decreased but the girl is wheezing every day now!!!!! its crazy how vets just dismiss the sneezing and then finally wheezing starts and they dismiss it too and then it gets severe wow... they didnt get any antibiotic. the boy also has some breathing trouble it seems. i hear sounds when he breatehs sometimes and he is skinny.. poor babaies. ppray for them :"(((
These organizations are great but poor people who live an hour or more away can't get there with no transportation.....you mentioned bringing resources to the animals....so where are the clinics in the actual poor communities like lowell
I hate when people feel compelled to try to be a comedian like this. Its out of nervousness they do that. They feel they cant keep an audience interested without it. Rabies is serious. 55k people a year still die of it and half will be under the age of 15. Its not funny. 😢
Hi my 13 yr old has one weepy eye due to feline herpes virus it started after we had painters doing outside our house, the vet said 6 weeks of eye cream but he's extremely stressed any time we try and runs away, is not trusting us, do you think we should just not try? Its stressed for us also and you dont mention it, he had like a ulcer but blood supply is visible which vet said is a good sign that his body is trying to heal the ulcer, any help would be amazing thanks

Excellent webinar. Setting up a new foster based rescue where I live in France. Our goal is to give dogs more chances of being adopted by launching short and medium stay fostering in our region. People are reluctant to commit to fostering for months . If we can gently introduce shorter periods we hope to show them what a difference they make and build trust and more willingness to foster regularly and gradually extend the stays. Great presentation, quality information on how to build a successful ptogram. Thanks so much .
Thank you Dr Ronald Schultz, the worlds best most respected immunologist, your life’s work which you have done is so very important. In the Netherlands and other places what they have been doing for many years is they titer pups in the litter from six weeks to watch the MDA waning, to find the correct time to vaccinate, that can be at any time up to 25 weeks, every pup is an individual. They go by the Parvo score and vaccinate at S1/0 then titer 3-4 weeks later to see if it has taken. How sensible is that.

I respect the idea behind the “high volume, low barrier” foster concept, but I have serious reservations about whether it is a smart approach. Barriers are in place for a reason. The speaker encourages organizations to trust that people are fostering dogs “for the right reasons,” ignoring the reality that there are prospective fosters who are not. *Every* shelter has a “do not adopt” list, and that list is usually long. Reasonable barriers are critical for animal welfare. How does this organization ensure that irresponsible people are not just handed dogs? I don’t think it’s a good idea to encourage fostering or adoption by people who are making spur-of-the-moment impulsive decisions, nor by people who are unable or unwilling to provide basic evidence that they properly care for the pets they already have.
I would encourage you to look into the “adopters welcome” philosophy info which breaks down the data on this. Applying the same philosophy to fosters makes an enormous difference! I know there are several videos on this channel about it as well how “adopters welcome” works and why less barriers are actually better.
