Yes, Sinbad memorial is at the Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light, NJ. Sinbad was not fond of officers such as my father, Bradley. Story follows. Upon arrival in New York on September 5, 1943, Campbell ties up at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Many of the crew are given liberty. Bradley offers to take the duty so that the married officers can go ashore to see their wives. One group of sailors takes Sinbad with them for a night on the town in Manhattan. Later that night, all of the crew report onboard, except Sinbad. Bradley tells the quartermaster to order the crew members who took Sinbad ashore to return to Manhattan to search for the dog. "Tell them they had better find Sinbad." In the middle of the night the quartermaster awakens Bradley. "There is a cop on deck who wants to see the officer in charge." As he gets dressed, Bradley wonders what trouble the crew might have gotten into. When he arrives on deck, the police officer asks, "Does this ship have a dog named Sinbad?" "We do, but at the moment Sinbad is AWOL and several of our crewmembers are ashore in Manhattan looking for him." "Look no furder.” The police officer shouts over the side of the ship toward the black and white patrol car, "Hey, Joey. Bring up da dog." "What happened?" Bradley asks. "About 2 a.m. we received a call from precinct headquarters which tells us that some Park Avenue dame is complaining about a dead dog on the sidewalk in front of her apartment. She wants it removed immediately. Arriving at the address I goes over and looks at the dog and says to my partner, ‘Hey, dis dog ain't dead. He's drunk, that's Sinbad.'" Sinbad had become well-known from press and magazine articles about the mascot and Campbell, including the sinking of U-606. In fact, Bradley’s family could keep track of the "secret" whereabouts of the ship simply by following the news about Sinbad.
@@ontherhumbline Ah I'm really sorry... your video with the 2 cats and the beautiful music of Bach made me cry because I lost my cats 3 years ago. I miss them but I can't get new ones!!
Do you have any videos and photos of the Congrio underway? Classic looks for sure. What kind of ship is she ? Did you run into anyone doing the trip by motor ?
Yes it does, but these shots are all on the east coast. Virginia and Carolina's Intracoastal Waterway do look similar to the Delta. The boat has also been to the Delta, but not with these cats.

Glad I got a glimpse of the old Green Hotel in Pasadena. Had a Great Aunt who lived there a few years in the late 1960s in her old age. I've been to many of the spots featured. I was last in LA back in May last year 2022. Philippe's has been there a long long time near the railroad depot. Sawdust on the floor and magnificent French Dips and the peanuts in the shell. Even Tommy's which I have enjoyed many chili burgers from. Only missing the Pioneer Chicken but I think it is only in far East Los Angeles now.
Thank you so very much for sharing your wonderful with all of us, who wish we were there! I wish you and your awesome cats a great many fantastic voyages together.
