@@chick3n6190 hello, it is bought separately from Tamiya. Many stores carry them. Lots of effort though, not sure I’ll do it again 😅www.tamiya.com/english/products/12642/index.html
Superb skill and wonderful build. I am almost finished with my build but its nowhere near as good as yours. at 13:34 you show a picture of flags on the mast how do you get the lines to curve as if hey are in a breeze do you use a glue on he line ?? and what thickness of line are you using ?? A joy to watch. Tim

Um navio lindo e com detalhes fantástico, aqui no Brasil passava um anime denominado PATRULHA ESTRELAR era show em 1990.Parabéns pelo belo trabalho, uma obra de arte com certeza.Obrigado por compartilhar.
Most people don’t know just how tedious all that brass photo-etch is. Triples the time it takes to build a model, but once it’s done it really makes the model stand out.
LEAVE IT TO THA JAPANESE MANUFACTURERS TO OFFER SUCH AN EXCELLENT MODEL KIT AND EQUALLY EXCELENT JAPANESE CRAFTSMEN WHO BUILD SUCH MODELS X. ASIDE COMMENT : ALL JAPANESE AND OTHERS ; , REMEMBER THE TRULY GREAT I J N. DESTROYER IKAZUCHI. I just completed a cardboard model Soryu, and am now working on Hiryu. While i cannot do the finest of details, the overall models came out very well. I use thin single layer cardboard and stretch styrene sprue for small details. Tamiya model paint. I go by eye and illustration only, no plans or scale. Soryu is about 15" long.
That separate front Hull joint is among the most nightmarish modelling experiences of my life... It runs across plates near a lot of details, but the worst part is that it is the apex of an irregular compound curve, instead of being in a nearby flatter area... And none of the curves match, vertically or horizontally... Given a shaving light angle, the joint will always show up short of re-plating the entire thing... Or erasing the plating completely... Because of the tiny scale, any replating is really quite difficult or impractical.
Can anyone tell the part number of this kit. It seems that there are more that one "premium edititon" of this ship, from Tamiya, and they have quite a pricedifference.
Peter, the model number is 78025. The following link gives a good follow up on the editions www.scalemates.com/kits/tamiya-78016-ijn-battleship-musashi--165491
It’s in Singapore dollar. And the shop owner likes to put up a big price tag then gives a big discount so that he looks good. All in all including the photo etch, this premium edition costs about USD250
THIS , IS AB S O L U T E L Y. , THEE , BEST KIT OF THIS SHIP , AVAILABLE .. THE BUILDER IS ALMOST CERTAINLY A PRO EMPLOYED BY A JAPANESE MODEL MAKER , AS THE EFFORT AND TIME REQUIRES TO END WITH SUCH A MUSEUM QUELITY UNIT AS THIS , IS OBVIOUS ... I know right ?! I threw away the “completely used” spruce without realising the tiny chrysanthemum was still attached to it. By the time I realised it the garbage truck was already gone.
Outstanding build, but the music has to go. It takes away so much from such a fantastic build of a subject that should be remembered of a time of great suffering and horrific death. Adm Oldendorf’s battle line absolutely destroyed this elegant ship and that of the rest of the IJN formation that night in Surigao straight. I’d thought some more somber music if any would be apropos.
Gee if the fleet had gotten through to the landings on Leyte it would have been a massacre...too bad the Jap fleet was destroyed...(my father in law had no regrets.)
