Really beautiful design, and the colors of the plantings amazing with the bricks. Only thing i would have put 2 pots next to the front door, maybe the evergreen.
I learned a different planting technique. When picking up a plant, always support it from the bottom; never pick it up by the stem. Next is loosen the soil around the roots and trim off and loosen circling roots. It also helps to give the plant a nice drink while it is still in the pot by setting it in a bucket of water for 20 minutes or so.
Lovely creativity by both designers. I am a looooong time gardener and always learn something. I do wonder how Charlie can stand having her hair continually falling in her face. That would drive me bonkers!
I love the way the center of the garden is the focal point. The side areas around the pergola make it more inviting. This is a nice mix of plants, tho invasiveness is an important consideration when introducing a new plant, as it can add to maintenance. I like Penstemon, but it can be invasive here in the American midwest. This made me realize that I want more structure in my garden.
