@@eczmurat I heard it could be from the oil pump, that’s why the sound comes from under the car, I will soon change it and see if it still sounds the same
@@sergiuangelo Not easy task to change the pump as the oil pan is splited into 2 and does not want to come out without engine lifted high. I hope it solves the noise. I don't care about the noises anymore. This engine is noisy buy seems to run forever even if you don't take good care of it. :)
@@eczmurat so yesterday I've found out that the noise could come from the secondary air injection, and from few chats with other slk owners it seems they have the exact same noise on cold start ups, I will just leave it as it is for now and enjoy it :)

I got 2 w203 c200 kompressor with the M111evo Engine and both of Them make this Noise on cold Start, it Sounds like chain rattle. Do you know where the Sound comes?
Artur Ku it gets louder in years. i feel like bad cat, resonator or just some exhaust leak. because it comes from below, not engine. and only makes it during sec. air inj. it must be the noise of burning extra fuel with air injection in the exhaust. I am now changing the cat with magnaflow direct fit. lets see the result.
hi i have a c180 2002 with a m111.951 engine in it. it has a slight rattle in it sometimes for the first 2 seconds on cold start up. would replacing the tensioner help? if so im guessing the procedure is similar to your video.
Alex berlein I have done many things to get rid of the that rattle in 12 years. nothing solved completely. its probably the check valve that feeds the tensioner. but you need to remove front lower cover to reach it.
I have the same engine and problem. I suspect its the oil check valve - A104 180 0432. The rattle at cold start is caused by the faulty valve. As the oil pressure builds up after start the rattle dissapears after a few seconds...
Why did you replace only the tensioner, not the entire chain? I have the same exact engine and it has started to rattle when warm on idle, I'm just wondering if this would help with it. Did yours rattle before the replacement?
mine was rattling only at cold startup for 2-3 seconds. I was suspecting the tensioner not holding oil and draining due to clogged valves inside it.
