If you're not feeling right about it, don't do it as its not for everyone.. I haven't jumped it in awhile, but im not sure where you are looking for it to be shallow.. usually if you walk up from Como side onto the bridge its the first pillar that holds the bridge up in the water that's where its acceptable to jump from, you try avoid the middle because of boats coming in and out which is another thing you should have a mate spotting for boats heading your way underneath you before you jump.
This is one of the most stupid thing to do in the shire. Not only is it illegal, but you can easily die from the jump, which is a thing that has happened. at the exact bridge. Just goes to show how many bogan idiots we have in the shire doing insane stuff like this. You're not "hip and cool", you're a disrespectful, selfish jerk.

But since you need to be woken up, I've been down there since 7-8 years old im 24 now, this is nothing new and in fact its not even a very high drop. If you think this is bad you are so blinded by what else happens around here lmao. Around a good 1,000+ people have jumped off that bridge with ONLY 1 Death. If you're a Como kid, you will know all the stories especially with adults who are now in there 30's/40's letting us know when they jumped it as youngins they had to be careful as of building materials that had fallen in when the bridge was being built/fixed, that material may still be there but no one has ever landed on it from my knowledge or the elders. If this bothers you, go watch some cliff jumping videos (because i can guarantee these kids are into it) and come back and let me know how dangerous this is jumping into a deep straight body of water directly underneath you and not having to clear land. This is nothing and that's why this shows me you never lived properly as a teenager, teenagers take risks for fun a lot bigger then this its nothing new and mistakes do happen and so i do feel sorry for the one kid that had passed away. Also you'll learn that the kids/teenagers that jump off the wharf at como are the ones that decide that they are ready to jump off something bigger, no kid goes up the the bridge un-prepared and that's facts. These kids here knew exactly what they were doing, That's all.
