I've been diving into the complex world of Latin music genres... there's a lot to try and differentiate but I'n enjoying the process. Hopefully I'll get Atleast a small grasp on some basic stuff so I know a song that my mind would just default to being mariachi is actually rather nuanced and unique
I *KNEW* it was polka-influenced. Growing up, there was an apartment complex near my house that *ALWAYS PLAYED NORTEñAS MUSIC IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WHEN I WAS TRYING TO SLEEP* and now it causes an *UNFATHOMABLE **_RAGE_** IN ME* _WHENEVER I HEAR IT._ A few months back, some MORON was playing *THE SAME MUSIC I **_MOVED AWAY FROM_** IN MY **_NEW_** NEIGHBORHOOD,* and it was like *FIVE BLOCKS AWAY AT LEAST!* Reported the #$%ers to the cops, too, screw 'em. I was ready to commit *war crimes* (for legal reasons, that's a _joke_ ). I don't mean to yuck anyone's yums, but...just...turn down your *EFFING MUSIC AT NIGHT, FFS!!* Mariachi and cumbia are nice, though. 😊 P.S. Thanks for giving me a name to slap on the *musical bane of my existence.* I kept calling it "Mexican polka" b/c that's the best way I could describe it. I hate polka, too, btw, lol.
Vicente sang Rancheras (referring to the theme of the music)…often backed up with a mariachi (the ensemble). They’re often used synonymously, but there are performers who sing rancheras without a mariachi, just a guitar.
Huge difference is an over statement, music is subjective i will state that first, but man is this music annoying especially when its being played and howled at all hours of the night with no regards for neighbors. It all sounds the same like bad circus music. There is hardly any distinctive difference it all bleeds together and i have no idea when one song ends and the other begins. And don’t claim Texas as part of Mexico either lol
Funny thing is Banda and Norteño music comes from the German settlers prior to the Texas revolution that brought Germanic folk music, it’s almost the exact same. They also brought the first beer to Mexico, which is why Mexican beers like Modelo, Dos, and Tecate taste like German beer
What alot of people dont know is The Aztecas (Meshikas) were originaly from Utah then they expanded into Mexico so this whole labeling Chicano pocho mexicano its Just labels were all Mexican.
And of course there is that "irrelevant" type of music from Veracruz, from where songs like "El Cascabel" have come out of!! And their dress is totally different from all the groups listed here, but that is because it's the southern part of the country. Maya music is also very nice.
The only kind of Mexican music I like is mariachis, I absolutely LOVE mariachi music. Not a fan of any of the other music tho 🤢 sorry. But everyone has their style and culture. But mariachi is pure bliss 🔥♥️🔥♥️
In the USA, Mexicans are the equivalent to Indians and Pakistanis in the UK. They are EVERYWHERE, eventually you will get tired of them and everyone will start screaming “stop stealing our jobs!”
No mmn.
All these different genres of music from Mexico is quite a difference from one to another. However, I can only bare to listen to Mariachi, bolero, and Mexican Alternative. But whenever I get an earful of Banda and Norteño music, I just wanna hang myself.
I worked 14+ hour days in the fish canneries in Alaska and was force fed Banda from the Mexicans on the crew. It is all of the same and, dios mio perdona me, it was torture.
Did You know that The Native Tribes Of Mexico .. already had their own flutes , bases, drums, Maracas, they has Bands for their Kings !!!And an array of wind instruments Long Before the Spanish Landed 🔥🔥🔥👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👺👺👺👺👺👺☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️🔥
Ponte a pensar.
Since 1998, The Country of Mexico as is, has been sending Banda Sinaloense El Recodo de Crúz Lizarraga to every World Cup to represent Mexico Culturally and musically so that implies that Banda Music has been representing Mexico for quite some time giving mariachi culture the back seat.
