Congratulations! The guidebook looks amazing! My deck arrived today. I am in love with these cards. I feel so connected to the Earth suit and and it is the suit I traditionally feel the least connection to. But with your deck, it is my favorite. I’ve been there and that can be incredibly difficult to deal with and Im sending all the support and hugs. Definitely when it comes to any thoughts of harm (emotional, physical, whatever it is) I always encourage people to speak to a professional for support. I’m so grateful for therapy for all the tools I’m learning and for tarot for being able to help me practice mindfulness. Hi Anjie. I always enjoy watching you read cards and hearing your thoughts. I’m sorry to hear that you have been going through some difficult times. I myself have been feeling the heaviness of life pressing down upon me. I have been dealing with some uncomfortable feelings around both work and my personal life. And I suspect these challenges/obstacles are the result of not facing my fears. As a sidenote, you are one of the few people on RU-vid who reads cards like I do. Meaning, you get the theme or general energy of the reading from Oracle first, then clarify it with tarot. Which is exactly how I read. You have inspired me to go do a reading now ❤️

Hi Anjie. I love when you share such personal details about your life in your videos. I feel like I’m getting to know you better. This was a great reading! I felt a connection to it for myself. I am experiencing a lot of challenges around communicating and interacting with people in my life, particularly in my career. It has been a very challenging month so far around dealing with other peoples opinions and criticisms of me, setting and holding boundaries, and releasing things that no longer serve me. And I will admit that a lot of this is tied into my own childhood trauma and things I am still trying to resolve and heal from as an adult. Anyway, it was great to hear you talk about your story. I share exactly for this reason…because we’re less alone than we may feel at times and it helps to know that :) Its really tough to be dealing with childhood trauma as an adult because it can be so much “easier” (at least it feels like it) to sweep that under the rug and pretend that we’re okay. 2nd comment: In the chariot card you showed here, if my ego is driving the conversation…If my ego is motivating me to behave in a certain way, then aren’t I the driver, not the figure in the distance? And maybe I’m trying to run over my true self because I feel threatened. I don’t know. That just popped into my head as I was listening to you speak. This is why I love tarot so much. It allows & forces you to think about the cards and images in so many different ways. And it’s so revealing.

You have the archetypal meaning and then you layer it with context (of the reader, of the querent), and add to that our own filter with which we view the cards. The interpretations really are endless :) you definitely sent me down a rabbit hole today haha I love it!
I LOVE this discussion about ego! I have not heard about the 4 Ps & 3 Cs before. And as I was listening, I had to ask myself “if I am operating out of ego, am I going to be able to honestly evaluate the 4 Ps for myself?” Because after all, ego seems to be the antithesis of self-awareness, so if my ego is driving the conversation or is the fuel for my motivation, can I be truly honest with myself in my evaluation? Having said that, I’m experiencing some difficulties at work with another coworker who I believe operates from ego. But after listening to your video, now I have to ask, am I the one who is operating out of ego? You kind of blew my mind today Anjie. Another great video!

Also though I think that everyone operates from ego on a day to day and we claim insight and self awareness…so maybe it’s possible to sort of go outside yourself and see the ego as another part that’s acting out? Have you heard of internal family systems? I love that model because it uses a “core self” and then other “parts” of ourselves that clamor for attention.

I'm not where you are yet, but as an only child I do worry about what's to come. Thankfully my mom is healthy but I know there will come a time when she will need to be cared for and it's something I've started thinking about more lately. My thoughts are with you Anjie. I cared for both my parents for about 7 years before they passed away last year. So I have been in a 4 of cups place ever since. My core being is trying to care for my inner child by walling myself off and creating those boundaries of emotional healing. So my heart goes out to you. I wish I could give you a big hug. I could feel your emotions through the screen. I always learn so much from you. I don’t know your age, but you are wise beyond your years. This was a very revealing reading. And I love the poems that you worked into the video. You are the reason why I just purchased both of these decks a couple of weeks ago and have been really enjoying working with them. Doing a “dear tarot diary” series to map out your emotions would be amazing! I would definitely watch that!

The poems are from 2 sources…one of them is Sabrina Benaim’s book “depression and other magic tricks” and the one one is a poem by Rilke (from his book of hours). I’m not very well versed in poetry but those poems (especially the first one) have carried me through some really tough times. Hi Anjie. I’m impressed that you have enough self-control to only have 8 oracle decks. I cannot claim the same for myself 😉 You are only the 2nd person I follow who has talked about the divine poet deck series. I bought all 4 of the decks, and I love them all! I use mine in several ways but mostly as a meditative prompt or as a journal prompt. These decks would actually be another great way to address tarot burnout as you talked about in your last video. @@ACupOfTarot Ah I didn’t think about the shipping cost. I have to remember that living in the US, I am very fortunate that most of the decks I buy have free shipping. Honestly, I love all the divining poets decks. Lucille Clifton is great, but so is the Emily Dickinson one and the Yeats one. I just realized I don’t have the Rumi one. I meant to purchase it, but then I didn’t. I am not familiar with Rilke. I just downloaded a couple of her books onto my Kindle, so thank you for that new information. I’m super into poetry right now so it’s always great to be introduced to an unfamiliar voice.

For a long time, I resisted affirmation decks. Not really sure why except that I always seem to want more traditional artwork. But recently, I have found a lot of value and meaning in affirmation decks. They are especially helpful to support and enhance a tarot reading. This deck looks very supportive. Thank you for sharing!
I resisted them too! I didn’t like anything too positive and was drawn to decks that would deal with the shadow side of things. My favorite affirmation deck would be the align: heart affirmations oracle. It looks so sweet but the messages hit so hard. And it’s a great balance of energies too.

What a great reading! I have not thought of the 6 of cups representing rose colored glasses. That got me thinking. My childhood was fairly traumatic. But It was also full of magic and wonder. I remember spending hours hunting for fairies in the forest, looking for portals and gateways in the trunks of trees, and talking to the magical creatures that I encountered. I need to remember that when I work with the 6 of cups. It is not only about healing trauma, but can also bring in that element of magic and wonder. When you flipped over the danger card above the knight of cups, I instantly thought of my tendency to seek out danger in the men in my life. That bad boy energy that I have always been drawn to. It kind of blew my mind when you flipped that card over. Finally, I loved when you said there is a stigma around the need to find your passion in order to live your best life. And that it’s OK if you’re passion is living a stable, peaceful, content life. I absolutely agree. Today, I find passion in the simple pleasures in my life, but 20 years ago, I may not have seen it that way. This was so great, Anjie! These are my favorite types of videos!

I’ve always wanted the lonely dreamer tarot so I went over to the Etsy shop and it looks like she is doing one last print run of this deck and then that’s it. So of course I had to go ahead and buy it. Also wanted the reclaim oracle for a long time, but I think that one is out of print. And the tarot deck you made looks beautiful! @@ACupOfTarot no, I have only the photographic one. I think the illustrated looses a lot of that special vibe the photographic one has. Basically imho it is "just" an RWS deck, but the photos and the real covered faces make it for me like it is a window or door into my own inner/ dream/ emotional world. Walking in that world can be ghostly and scary, but I am safe, as this is all part of my inner self. That's also why I like the borders: they give me the safety of a window frame and I can pull back out, and watch from a distant, if needed.
@@ACupOfTarot "if in doubt, do without" I read somewhere, and you'll still have that money. The question is, do you really need 2 Somnia versions, or is the photo deck enough, from the "your personal tarot practice" point of view. Of course, if you are the "collector type", you might want all versions, or Nicolas Bruno decks, or all RWS-ish decks. A deck I am debating is the remembering the sweet fool. I kind of hoped it would go OOP so it wouldn't bother me anymore, but now there is even a pocket version ...
Nicolas Bruno really did an amazing job on his deck. Saw it first time from Juvy and I thought it was brilliantly done. There are no faces, they're basically covered, but you could definitely feel the emotions.
