Toprak has just done a 1.24.6 lap of Donington Park (13/07/2024) while Sarron did a 1.39.91, nearly 16 seconds a lap faster on a WSB. Still, thats progress after 37 years.
Still remember that day. We were all soaked. It rained and rained, it looked like they weren’t going to run this race, but did, I don’t know how they stayed on, it was an awful day, with the weather, but, the fans stayed on to watch this race, it was unbelievable wet!
Well done Trevor Nation, a masterful ride in very tricky conditions. 👍 It's a travesty that Trev didn't receive factory support & decent sponsorship until quite late in his racing career, a missed opportunity for both him and the country in general in my honest opinion.
