I did this mod and also installed direct brake lines from Stoltec. My problem is the module I purchased from FT ECU/ABS Delete now causes the speedometer and odometer to read 30% over. I really don't care about the speedo euro but do want my odometer to show 10,000 mile when the bike has only traveled 7000 miles. I have trying to work with them for almost year to find a correction but to no avail. They seem to not even really understand what is wrong nor how to reprogram the module to correct the error. Caveat Emptor!
Missed this! Sorry. ABS dongle is needed to avoid error codes in the dash. But it would work without, if the engine light wouldn’t bother you I guess ;) However, no guarantees- and I would invest in the dongle! (got mine from www.i2m.it - works great!)
I love that YT has many techniques from all around the Globe. I'm looking into the BRP/Scott combo. Costs the Kings Ransom, Buttt!! You should hear my German. Lol Thank's Feli. 👍
Hey Guys, I really enjoyed your video. Also I noticed the really nice rear view mirrors on the T7 of the camera man. It would be awesome if you could share a link or a product name. Thanks in advance! Tolles Video Jungs, bin auch Deutscher, hab aber im anderen Kommentar schon gelesen, dass wir es durch englisches Schreiben für alle zugänglich halteb wollen. Weiter so mit dem Kanal, gefällt mir!
Hey and thanks for the kind words! Here are the mirrors (Amazon Affiliate Link) amzn.to/43xdSaz Here is a cheaper alternative (Amazon Affiliate Link) amzn.to/3IRTkQy Here is the whole kit with the needed Adapters (sold by Rottweiler performance, no affiliate) shop.rottweilerperformance.com/quick-flip-mirror-mount-kit-arrow-kit/ And here are the adapters only (Rottweiler, no affiliate) shop.rottweilerperformance.com/quick-flip-mirror-mounts-mounts-only/ The mirrors in the video are from the Rottweiler kit (there hasn't been a cheap alternative when I bought them). If you decide to get the adapters only, please double check if they fit the mirror mounts. Hope this helps!
Fantastic adventure, great humour. Heading to Andalusia in June on GSA 1250 and looking to find some off road sections suitable for bigger bikes. Could you share your route or sections that were really good? Look forward to next episode and thank you for sharing. Inspirational.
Hey! We're actually working on a community platform where we can share gps tracks (and a lot more). As this will take a bit more time, please contact me via DM on Instagram (@rolandmeents), I'll happily share some tips with you!
Hey cool Vid, can you link me the small ratchet you use at 3:41 been looking for something like this for a long time (Edit: gerade gemerkt das ihr auch deutsche seid haha)
@hallohallo4652 Hey there! Yes, we're all german, but I stick to english, as this might help others too: The tools used are from EASTBOUND, a british company. They offer motorcycle specific tool sets and more: eastbound.shop/de/product-categorie/tire-tools-tire-levers-bead-breaker-axle-nut-wrenches/ I can also highly recommend DESERTFOX as an alternative: desertfox.bike/motorcycle-tool-kits/ Hope that helps!
great video cant wait to see more and see how the channel wil evolve i just started one myself and i already see things here that inspire me keep it up!!
It wasn't a direct "swap". I sold the Husky cause 99% of the time I rode alone. The Triumph Scrambler I already had was the better bike for me at that time. I met my offroad riding buddies one or two years later, and at that time we all decided to get ourself Teneres.
@@WilderMinds okay understand so nothing against the 701 itself. I'm asking because there is a 2017 701 with the kit 701 (but not as nice built as yours, missing the Scotts for example) for sale and I'm thinking about getting it. I'm planning on trips driving the TET Finland and mostly just exploring rock roads (and sometimes going to more extreme offroad areas). After your experience, would you recommend the 701 + kit 701 for that? Could you kind of keep up with enduros and mx bikes in the rough stuff?
I'm still a big fan of the 701 and kit690 and would always recommend it, if that's what you're after. For myself, I've got to say that I enjoy the T7 a bit more. I don't live in offroad paradise and most of the time riding includes some longer pavement stretches. The T7 engine is awesome for what I use the bike for, and after some improvements it isn't that heavy anymore and feels great. It's still not as light and nimble as the 701, but capable of stuff beyond my riding skills ;) But IF I would swap it for a lighter bike one day, I think I'd go for a 450/501. To really keep up with Enduros / MX bikes a 701 Rally build might be too heavy. I rode with some Enduro guys and sometimes it's been tough work where these guys definitely had more fun than me. I think the "one bike does it all" motorcycle doesn't exist in this case. If I would be in your situation, I think I would consider a 501. With a nav tower maybe, but if you really want to keep up with Enduros etc. I'd skip the extra front tanks.
@@WilderMinds that sounds like solid advice, thank you! If I want, I can barely touch pavement where I live, but you are right maybe the extra tanks are too unwieldy. I plan to ride some in wilderness areas, but 250-300km range should be enough there.
You're welcome! In the end it's personal choice. From what I've heard a 501/450 would be my weapon of choice, but in the end it all comes down to what YOU want to ride! If sitting in the saddle of a fully kitted out 701 makes you more happy then squeezing out the max. performance of a smaller bike, then that's what you should go after. Have fun riding, that's what it's all about.
It's nice to see you again. Last time You modified Husky 701 with Omega kit. What happened since Husky, why You choose T7 bigger and heavier motorcycle.
Hey man, great to see folks from the "old times" still being around! Husky vs. Tenere wasn't a direct "swap". I sold the Husky cause 99% of the time I rode alone. The Triumph Scrambler I already had was the better bike for me at that time. I met my offroad riding buddies one or two years later, and at that time we all decided to get ourself Teneres. Pretty funny story, cause we met, decided to go on a trip together, booked boat tickets to the canaries AND bought the bikes - all within 1 1/2 weeks. But I'll cover this in a video later this year. Already working on it! About weight: The Tenere IS heavier, BUT: After some pretty big mods (ABS delete, single brake and a lot more) it's actually not that far from the fully kitted out Husky anymore. For now it's an awesome bike, and who knows, maybe there will be a real Rallybike in the garage one day... ;)
Hi! First of all, awesome serie! It’s sad that you discontinued with the videos! Can I ask you what brand of tools do you use? What brand of bike lifter have you bought? Thanks
Thanks! Still thinking about continuing. There's still terabytes of footage on my hard drives. The tools are nothing special and I don't stick to one brand. Wouldn't get the cheapest stuff, but for private use the high end tools are overkill. We've got a tool shop around where I got the bike lift (Powerplustools), but I don't know if the brand is available internationally
Keen to know if they achieved their vibration reducing goal ? Thinking of adding to my 790 rally and can’t see you’ve answered the question? 🙏 did the Scott’s add noticeable difference ?
Hey, I know I'm late but maybe it still helps: Yes, the vibration was reduced incredibly! I loved it. The Scotts is a great addition too. The most noticeable (for me) was on sand. I'm running a T700 meanwhile and got a Scotts on there too. I wouldn't want to miss it.
I know this is three years ago but I’m waiting on delivery of my 22 701 &this is a great video series, one question ( I can’t seem to find it ). Is there a video of you fitting and wiring of the tech ie gps ect . I’m looking to watching your second series 🎉
@@WilderMinds yup got it November all good I’m actually going off road this weekend for the first time on it can’t wait thanks for replying take care out there 🏍️👍
Have fun with it! 💪🏼 mine is gone and swapped for a T7, so there will be no more videos about the 701. But if you’re into bikes in general, the channel will have a comeback soon!!
@@WilderMinds I’m a bike nut have three now lol (don’t tell my wife lol) , I’m still subscribed as I follow lots of t7 content it was very close on which I went for ,enjoy your riding bud 🎉🏍️👍
Hi thanks for video. Was just wondering if you knew of a fix for the clutch safety switch. This could also leave you stranded if it becomes faulty. Thanks j
If you cut trim the hose a bit, it'll fit the barb connector better. it's just been stretched by the y-connector over time. Still worth zip tying everything!
Thanks for the kind words! In the end it has been too time consuming back when I did this. Dayjob and stuff, we all know the struggle. BUT: The channel will be back pretty soon! Working on it. Hope you’re still here ;)
All you had to do is carry a couple little neodymium magnet 3x5mm an stick it on back of sensor its up behind kick stand so never get stranded for a couple of $
Great video...but please loose the music bed. It's not needed and makes it very hard to understand what you are saying, especially with your strong accent.
yep, and the color grading is bad, and overall theres a lot better and more informational vids about the PCV on RU-vid... This video is more then 2 years old, and editing is constant learning. At that time this was what I thought would be cool, today I would change a lot. But it is what it is ;)
