Your advice is totally useless and does not work! I take my dog outside and walk him around for long periods of time and he does not go. And then comes inside and pee's and poops on our floor. Not sure how you call yourself a dog trainer?
I can't get my doggies to play with toys! They're Chihuahuas rescues. An 8yo boy and a 5yo girl. They're still learning how to walk on a leash. They've made great progress from the 4 months we were blessed with them. The lady that owned them had dementia and other health issues that had her in and out of the hospital. They were boarded for a week at a time before the children finally came in to help. The kid's had basically been in a crate for at least 7 months? Of couse they came with medical issues 🙄. 😆! They're able to go up and down steps and stairs now! But nothing I've done will get them to play with toys, other than me! 😆 They also have potty training issues that we can't completely fix. My hubby bought them both a little dog toy and the girl baby brought hers to me, dropped it at my feet, then turned and walked away! Can I get them to play with toys? 😮
The video here is helpful but the “how to” was not easy to understand and follow. We need step by step on what we should do. A lot of time was used explaining, don’t do this, but the how to was a bit unclear. Thank you!
My dog has started marking my entire house since I got my bearded dragon. He’s been marking everything and even opening doors that are latched by himself just to get into bedrooms to mark. He knows how to jump up and unlatch the door with the handle.
My dog was house trained for two plus years, but he has pooped in his crate two days in a row. Not sure what is going on. They say that dogs do go through teenage rebellious stage, and that may be the reason, but I am not sure.
Hello, thanks for the tips. When ignoring the pup for stepping off, do you ultimately give them the treat after 10 seconds? Or continue to deny the treat until they stay? Also when baiting them off the bed, how long do you wait until you congratulate and give the treat? Thanks again! I have a Chihuahua mix (chiweenie to be sure but paperwork just said "Chihuahua mix") who turned 2 in April and she's pretty unruly and I just took in a Borador (border Collie/lab)who is still a puppy. Winnie, and Piper respectively.. anyway Piper is so far really easy to train, but I've always struggled getting Winnie to listen to me with most commands unless In a controlled environment. They were already friends/neighbors so they get along well but Winnie is just a bully!
Thank you!! No one has given me better answers than you have!!! You are awesome!!! Now my dog only does it when we’re not looking! So he has to know it’s not allowed!!! Well I’m going to set up a camera and watch him secretly then use the zapper on him!! it’s really just a vibration. It’s not a shock. I don’t use the shock feature unless I need to scare him straight.
I'm really open to feedback. If you've a valid answer that's not just the "don't correct the behaviour and have less pets" that you had in the video, I'd be more than happy to redact my statement and listen to your likely expert opinion on the matter. Thank you in advance good sir.
Yeah not everyone has a menagerie. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats, our home & yard is enough to facilitate them. The newer/younger of the 2 dogs has been pooping inside , often in rooms where there's a cat box. She knows to go outside and has access but seems to be going inside due to some behavioral thing. She is an intact female about 2 years old and it went from okay well she's a puppy still potty training to okay there's something else going on here. Would love some more specifics to try.
Little late here, and I don't have a whole lot of experience, but you're REALLY one sided here, man, and honestly, also incorrect in my limited experience. When the jssue happens, he also hasn't eaten or drank prior to the issue. We use a collar to take him ouside at key times and have had roughy 786 times of good behaviour after which, priased good behavior. Please correct me if I'm wrong here, but my dog is great at going potty outside and is on a great schedule. He does do the occasional excitement pee, which is fine and we're trying to figure that one out, but otherwise is excellent. Except when we take him outside, he pees and then just wanders for 8-10 minutes. Then, on occasion, will go inside and very calmly poop. He knows exactly when to go outside, just sometimes doesn't. We don't have any other pets, so I presume there isn't any marking issues. I think I covered all of your points.
Well my dog was a rescue and whoever had her before beat her bad so bad it’s so sad the littlest movement and she pees she can’t help it she is so so frightened she just keeps peeing but I am getting a crate for her definitely a good idea thank you
I sprayed a pitbull mix in the eyes with mace to get him off my dog, it hardly phased him but I was able to get him off, I also got bit. $1500 in vet bills
I have a pit bull fully potty trained but for some reason once a month will poop multiple times on my kids room floor and pees on my sons bed! What do you think is happening please help I don’t want to get rid of him he’s such a good dog but I can’t have that help please And yes it’s only my kids room they share a room btw
Kind of a nonchalant presentation with less information than expected. He's right: disciplining in the moment doesn't have the desired effect in the long run. And this video doesn't much address multiple dogs in the home, and is mostly "Don'ts" instead of "Dos". The hoarding attitude is maybe why he's not effective. Some fosters out there have to take on more than one.
Hi Al, there is one question left. I can set the collar on tone only when it is on ZERO and it will continue for 10 seconds. I can then set it so that the e-collar stim turns on after 5 seconds after the tone. But can i set it so that the Tone and the stim turns on simultaneously. I want the TONE only for 10 seconds, then i need to be able to turn on the tone and the stim together?
So by saying quit hording animals, we should just dump them off at the pound? I only went out of my way to get our German Shepherd, all the rest are rescues, so that wasn't a very helpful comment. I'll move on to someone who can really help me.
Sounds like great advice. I wanna use a shock collar and buzz the shit out of my baby boy. Do you think the shock collar on a shitzu is too powerful? Do they have vibration collars that are for little dogs?
So I’m not home till 4 pm my dog stays inside big cage she’s a frenchie then when I let her outside when I get home she don’t pee and waits till she’s inside and goes.
I carry a steel baton…two pitties didn’t like the interaction..i carry it when walking alone as well…too many disrespectful irresponsible dog owners…they may end up with a vet bill that I am not paying
The guy act like he is on crack and try really hard to play “hard and cool” guy but with absolutely no good points on the subject. You sound like an idiot and less knowledgeable than people that come on this video to search for answers. Please stop making videos. Not for you
Happened to me yesterday. Same dog came up to my dog and started barking 3 times. Owner did not even leashed his dog after the dog did it the first time. I screamed and told owner to get his dog and then I told the dog to go away the 3rd time. Interesting that when my dog barks cause she is sometimes reactive, I get reaction like “oh my goodness”. But I have full control of my dog. I always have my dog on a leash. I am away from them. And yet they are okay with dog that not leashes who goes out to other dogs, invades their space and starts growling at dogs. I hate irresponsible dog owners
My dog that I rescued over 4 1/2 years ago just started not to want to go out in my backyard to go to the bathroom and he is only going outside once a day, how can I get him to go out of the back of his crate and he seems to be in no pain or discomfort?
Rest room? Seriously? Are you so sensitive that you can't say toilet? Okay. My dogs food and water is outside. The door is open 24/7. I work. I can't come home every hour to put my dog on a leaf and take it to the "rest room". Even your colleague thinks your an idiot. 😅
An old friend of mine from years ago, when his dog would poop or pee in the house, he'd put the poop in the dogs food dish. If he chewed up phone chargers, clothing, etc, he'd leave the chewed up item in his dogs food bowl?? Thoughts anyone?
